-Serinade-

We reached the village at the end of three sun cycles. I have absolute certainty It is male now. I was sure of it two sun cycles ago.

-Vance-

I woke up on an old bed that seemed like it hadn't been used in years. I yawn and walk out of the room I had called when we chose this house to stay at.

-Serinade-

I opened my eyes and saw people outside from the window sill I had slept on. We have to leave now, they're nearly here.

-Vance-

I decided to make breakfast… Well, as well as possible with the few berries It had found.

In the end I smashed them up and separated it into two bowls, that were left in the house.

I hear shuffling.

-Serinade-

I saw him and tugged on his sleeve, pointing to the window.

-Vance-

"Yes? What is it?" It tugged harder.

"I sure wish you could speak..." I sigh. It pushes me towards the window.

"Oh." I mutter, seeing what was outside. "Yeah, we better go."

I grab our limited supply of food and head toward the door.

-Serinade-

I followed him until something hit the wall in front of me.

An arrow! They found us!

I ducked under the arrow and ran towards him.

I didn't get far.

-Vance-

"Get down!" I shout to it… Before remembering It can't understand me.

I push It down behind the couch.

"I need to use magic!" I shout, before grabbing my head in frustration and swearing.

I hear a girly scream.

-Serinade-

I cried out in pain as the arrow embedded itself into my shoulder. I pressed my hand firmly to the wound in a feeble attempt to stop the bleeding.

-Vance-

I gasped.

"You're a girl!?" I shout.

I facepalm, again.

"Gosh, I'm an idiot!!! It was so obvious!"

-Serinade-

I grabbed his arm and yanked him down so an arrow didn’t impale him.

-Vance-

"Right! Being attacked. Think later, move now." I say, trying to clear my embarrassed brain.

I pull out my hidden dagger… Not that it'll be much help against archers.

-Serinade-

I slipped my hand under the couch and felt something. I pulled it out, seeing it was a broken bow. I ripped part of my clothing off, tying the two parts of the wood together. Now I just need a string.

-Vance-

I look over to check on Her,my mouth gapes open.

"A bow!" I shout in excitement.

-Serinade-

I spotted something I could use and dashed towards it.

-Vance-

As if in slow motion, I see an arrow heading straight for Her. If it hits, she'll die.

I quickly jump up and run in front of the course of the arrow.
