-Serinade-
I heard him scream as I reached the item. I quickly pulled a string from it and finished putting the bow together. Then I ripped the arrow in my shoulder out and shot at one of our attackers. They went down, then I ran over to him.
-Vance-
Oh gosh, I'm bleeding...
Is this the end?
No! Stay positive, She can probably just heal me like she did before. Right?
No, I'm getting dizzy. I can barely see Her fighting the attackers.
Who knew she could use a bow.
Crap, my vision is darkening. I don't think she'll beat them in time.
This is the end!
But I'm too young to die! I haven't even gotten the chance to fall in love yet!
I haven't even learned Her name…
My vision goes black.
I haven't gotten revenge yet…
-Serinade-
I yanked the arrow out, but the wound didn’t close up this time. I pressed on it to stop the bleeding. Then shot the arrow at another attacker.
It's not safe here…
I dragged him into another room, one with no windows and only one exit. I tore another part of my clothes off and bound the wound. I looked around the room and saw a box. I opened it and found a dagger, a quiver with ten arrows, and a bag of glowing dark purple crystals.
"Necromancy Crystals, Serinade. Use them to summon warriors to fight for you."
I looked around, trying to find the speaker.
But it was just me and the boy.
-Vance-
I was floating in complete darkness.
I can't hear anything, see anything, feel anything.
Was I already dead?
"...nce..." A quiet voice calls. It was almost too quiet to even hear.
I strain to listen to the voice.
"... un… et.. of th… He h… ts… ou!" I could only pick up bits and pieces. The voice sounded frantic.
"Who are you?" I try to shout, but nothing comes out.
"... he... com... s! ... r... u... n!" The voice sounded familiar. I knew this voice.
I just couldn't place it.
-Serinade-
Two men burst into the room. I took the dagger and slashed one in the shoulder. The other one kicked me down.
"Use the crystals, Serinade! Now!"
I opened my hand. A crystal glowed fiercely in my palm.
“Veni, viri!” I shouted.
The glow became black, and skeletal warriors appeared, attacking the men. There were only two, but soon all the attackers were gone.
I coughed violently. My voice sounded weak and coarse. I haven't used it in a while, obviously.
So why did I stop?
-Vance-
I slowly open my eye.
I hear someone coughing loudly. I turn my head to see that the one coughing is Her.
I try to sit up, and immediately regret it. I cough up some blood before lying down again.
She seems to have heard me.
-Serinade-
I looked over at him. My eyes widened as I saw the blood and I went over to him. I placed my hand on his forehead.
“Nocere potest irritari.” I said, my voice less coarse.
His shaky breathing slowed, and I checked his wound. It was gone. I sighed in relief.
The warriors returned. I nodded to them to signal their work was done. They turned into dust, and the dust disappeared.
-Vance-
I slowly sit up.
"Thanks so much. I thought I was a goner there for a moment." I half heartedly chuckled.
"At least I now know you're not mute." I say, mostly to myself. I decided I'd ignore the whole random skeletons turning to dust for now.
-Serinade-
I smiled at him to show I understood him.
-Vance-
Her smile was really cute.
I smile back at her, before realizing that her shoulder was still bleeding.
“Your shoulder! We need to heal it, can you heal it like you healed my wounds?” I ask her. She didn’t seem to understand.
Of course.
-Serinade-
Huh? I feel a little dizzy…
-Vance-
Um… I have no idea what to do! I'm not a healer!
I'll have to take her… home.
It's the only way to save her.
I know the way from here.
"Don't worry, I'm going to get you help, you just have to hold on! It shouldn't be too far from here…" Yeah, only two days, maybe three if I'm carrying Her the entire way.
I hate having to go back to that rotten place.
I pick Her up, bridal style, and start walking. She looked like she was about to pass out.
"You just have to last two days!" I tell Her.
-Serinade-
I tried my hardest to stay awake. It didn’t work too well.
Why didn't I heal? Was my last thought before passing out.
