DM: "you spot an ATM" P: " but how does that work this is medieval times?" DM: "Its a non electronic ATM" P: " but i found a credit card?" DM: " it makes sense i promise..."
DM in character: "THE PRICE IS RIGHT!" DM in character: " THE PRICE IS NOT RIGHT!"
P: "what is it reeeally?" DM in character: "i haven't even told you the price yet"
DM: the demons turn has ended. P: alright, i run and jump out the window DM:...you died. P: WTF??!! DM: your on the second floor. P: I DIDN'T KNOW. *player continues to be lame about situation and has to sit away* DM: I DON'T CARE, IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW NEITHER DID YOUR CHARACTER, AND NOW THEY'RE DEAD. SHOULD'VE LISTENED TO ME BETTER.
As you can read, a bit of drama went down, this player made a mistake i refused to reverse, and it was a perfectly realistic mistake too, i'd jump out of a window if a demon appeared as well. But this player argued extensively and i am currently keeping an eye on them as they cause difficulty for DM's and take fun out of the game. i'm putting this up to let others judge me for my decision as a DM, and as an example of a player who needed a lesson!
