Here we are, the next day, in French class. Nothing really special about it - I’m fluent in French, so I’m drowning in a sea of Juniors - it’s basically Lyke’s class, unbelievably boring, but *wait for it* IN FRENCH. No one in here can speak French better than anyone in the freshman level class. You’ve gotta feel kind of bad for ol’ Madame McClelland who tries so hard for no reason. So now I can write without interruption, which is nice. Before this, I had Mr. Donnelly’s class, and we’re reading some book, “The Catcher in the Rye”. Bruce, it’s practically my piece of work, but all about going around judging people and being a negative, horrible student. It’s aggrevating to read. It really is. And I’d choose white over rye any day. Donnelly’s this toothpick man with a load of tattoos, but all invisible with long sleeves, pants, and a collar. He was going on a field trip with another class, so you could see them with his short sleeves. It’s always another class.
So I said something about a show called Broadway Bound, right? It’s a bunch of middle schoolers doing solos and groups of any random Broadway song they want, but soloists and small groups have to audition. Last year, I had a solo, “What Do I Need With Love?” from Thourally Modern Millie. I’ve never seen the show, Millie, - I’ve seen about 4 in my life. But I was the president of my 8th grade mixed choir where all men were forced to sing baritone because we had 5 men out of 20, so I got to introduce the final song, “What I Did For Love.” There are two nights. The first, my voice cracked a bit during my solo, so the second night I was real timid. They were filming the show that night, so any mistake I made would be there. Forever. So my budd, Ts’eh (TESS-uh), told me to face the fact that my voice would crack without a doubt. I guess that was on purpose so I could achieve confidence and not crack, so that was nice. I was crazy ecstatic about not cracking. I was jumping around for the rest of the show until the final song came along.
