Lucas
Song: Sorry no song again!
Why are you so scared? It’s very simple dude. Just walk up to the door and knock. Say you were in the neighborhood and wanted to see if she could go out for a bit. Just make sure her mom doesn’t answer the door; she’s fucking scary. I walked up her four stairs to her door and knocked only to wait those long agonizing seconds for an answer. My palms were sweating and I could feel a chill run down my spine in the cold fall night.
I heard a bit of a shuffle, the door opened to reveal Brysiese? Her long hair was up in a high ponytail showing her whole face for once, and she looked almost like a guy. She was wearing a pair of loose shorts and an even looser tank top. She gave me a blank stare as if expecting me to ask for Mia.
“Um, is Mia there?” I asked looking past her shoulder inside. I didn’t see anyone shuffling around.
Brysiese moved aside. “She just got out of the shower so she’ll take a few seconds to come down.” I walked inside and she closed the door.
As she walked past me, I noticed her body was very straight; no curves or anything. And she had very nice muscle definition on her thin arms. I watched her go up the stairs before venturing into the livingroom to find Mia’s stepmom and a lady that must be Mia’s mom. Her light brown was long and braided over her shoulder framing her soft chubby face nicely giving her a nice motherly glow. However her eyes were a deep brown instead of Mia’s hazel green and she had a softer air around her making anyone that even got close to want to hug her.
“Lucas,” Thel gruffed. “What an unexpected visit.”
I gave a nervous smile. “Hey, Thel. What’s up?”
“My nerves on you.”
“Oh, he he. Funny.” I turned back to the entrance, praying for Mia to hurry her butt up.
Mia’s mom stepped up with a kind smile. “You must be that Lucas boy my daughter has been ranting about lately.”
Uh oh. “Yes ma’am I am.” I raised my hand. “Lucas Sinler. I go to school with Mia.”
“Oh look him Thel! So polite!” She shook my hand with a smile. “I’m Mia’s bio mom, Joy. I see you already met my wife Thel.”
“Yeah. I was wondering if I could take your daughter out for a little while to get some coffee or something.” I explained. “I know she likes that stuff.”
Joy’s smile widened. “That’s a great idea! She needs hang out with more people!”
Thel stepped up. Putting her hand on Joy’s shoulder, she said. “Um, babe, I think he means to take our little girl on a date.”
Joy’s eyes widened in surprise. “Oh! A date huh?”
“Well sorta, yeah.” I said.
Joy’s smile disappeared, her face settling into a neutral frown. “You want to date my daughter after all those girls?”
“I’m sorry?”
“You don’t think I wouldn’t ask around Lucas Sinler the boy who wants to take out my little girl?”
“Oh no.” Thel commented.
“I’ve heard a few things about you Lucas, most of them not good. If all you wanna do is get in Mia’s pants then you’re gonna have to get past us first.”
“Wha-”
“Are you guys interrogating him?”
In came Mia, dressed in the weirdest outfit I’ve ever seen her in. She had on a skirt that looked like a gypsy got ahold of it, layering old pieces of different shades of brown and green strips of cloth to make a knee length skirt. Bells and buttons were attached, making her hips jingle as she moved. She was wearing a pair of dark brown leggings and a matching long sleeve shirt doing nothing to hide her chest. But I think the most sudden thing about her was her hair. It wasn’t purple and blue anymore, it was dark red, like someone had bathed her in blood and it stained her hair.
“Yay! You’re wearing the skirt!” Joy bounded to Mia smiling again like nothing happened and pulled her into a hug. “You look so good with it on. But what about the shirt?”
Mia looked away. “It didn’t fit.”
Brysiese came in, said shirt in hand. “Liar. You just didn’t like the fact it showed your whole torso and not just a little bit of your stomach.”
“Shut up Bry! You wear it if you’re so smart!”
“Whatever.”
Mia glanced at me before pulling out of her mom’s hug. “So what were you guys talking about?”
“Oh nothing, Lucas here was just introducing himself when you came down.” Joy said. “Right Lucas?” She looked at me with her smile not quite reaching her eyes.
“Yeah. We were just introducing each other.” I said.
Mia rolled her eyes at us but smiled. “So what did you want to do with me?”
Lots of things. “I wanted to take you out to coffee.”
“At seven in the evening?”
“Is that ok?”
“It’s a little late for coffee. I stop drinking caffeine after three.”
Joy bounced up and down raising her hand. “Ooh! Ooh! Why doesn’t he stay for dinner?”
“That’s a great idea honey,” Thel squeezed my shoulder. “Stay for dinner Lucas. We can get to know you.”
“I think he should leave for the night,” Brysiese mumbled.
“It’s settled! Lucas is staying!” Joy jumped with glee and shuffled to the kitchen, Thel following close behind.
Mia smiled at me. “Sorry about them. They tend to do whatever they like.”
Brysiese shrugged. “Like mother, like daughter as people like to say.”
Mia glared at her friend. “You wanna go there?”
“Not yet. Still need the surgery.” she smirked.
