This story happened about 2 years ago when I was 18, finishing up my first semester of college. I had just gotten home for winter break, and a friend of mine wanted me to come over and spend the night. On the way, she'd asked me to pick up some salt and vinegar chips (she had a slight obsession with them) and some cookies. The only store still open between my house and hers (it was 11:30 at this point) was a gas station. I've been to this particular gas station many times at all hours of the day, and I don't live in a bad area at all, so I had no fear of stopping to get goods. However I was wrong.
As soon as I enter the store, it feels as if someone is watching my every move. I try to ignore it at first, but it eventually notice that a middle aged man is following me, stopping at every isle I stop at and staring at me with a weird smile. I mostly just avoided eye contact, trying to find things I need as fast a possible. My friend texts me as I near the front of the store, and I pause to let her know I'll be there soon. It was then that I heard a voice.
"Excuse me, beautiful." I look up, and it's the creepy man, staring me down with that same creepy smile. I automatically assume he's trying to look at something I'm standing in front of, so I just mutter a, "sorry," and move out of the way. He looks confused as I walk past, and starts following me to the counter. I realize he's trying to match my speed, as he keeps looking over to see if I'm almost done, and he's hurrying the cashier along.
Luckily, I finish first and practically bolt outside to my car, jumping in and locking it immediately. I hunch down in the front seat so he can't see which car I've entered. Dude comes out of the gas station not soon after and is sweeping the lot, looking left and right and scowling. A minute later, I can see him cursing and shake his head, disappearing were no cars were parked, only woods. Not quite sure what that dude's intentions were, but creepy stranger following me at the gas station, let's not meet.
