There is fire in my eyes,
My heart, my soul.
There is stardust in my mind,
My essence, my very being.
These bones are a prison,
And I am rattling the bars.
This mortal body is a cage,
And I am howling to be free.
There is a graveyard in my heart,
And I will bury you there.
There is a dead boy in my heart,
And many others like him.
There is a temple in my soul,
And it is ruined, desolate.
There is a cathedral in my soul,
And no one is left to worship there.
There is a girl in the mirror,
And her eyes are sad, tired.
There is a girl in the mirror,
And her eyes are dark, hungry.
There is a girl in my mind,
And she is heartsick.
There is a girl in my heart,
And she is bloodthirsty.
There is a girl I know well,
And a girl I don’t.
There is a pair of girls here,
And I am both of them.
