“We're going to an old friend of mines.” My mum replied sounding a bit timid about us meeting this “old friend” of hers.
After about three more hours of driving we finally pulled into the driveway of a very large mansion-like house. Mum was the first to get out of the car, followed by dad when she grabbed him by the arms and dragged him out of the car. Him being a bigger guy it was a lot harder for her to drag him everywhere, so you could tell she was trying to drag him faster so it'd be easier.
When my mum got up to the mansion steps I could faintly hear her tell us to get out of the car and give her a hand with my father along with the door. Charles and I get out of the car, close all the doors and went to go meet up with my mum. Who by now already opened the mansion door and was now slowly dragging my father inside. I jogged up the path and up the steps to give my mother a hand carrying my dad. It made it easier for her once I picked up his legs, due to my vampire strength it was a lot easier on my mother’s back even though I was only seven I seemed to be quite powerful.
Charles didn't really know what to do so he just sort of walked into the mansion and closed the door behind us. We were all inside the house, mum and I had put my dad on the biggest couch in the nicely lit living room. The only light in the living room was coming from the lightly burning fire in a very large, older looking dark grey brick fireplace, along with two little bonsai shaped lamps that seemed to be made out of tiny glowing leaves.
The lamps were sitting on their own separate rustic themed side tables that seemed to match the rest of the furniture. While the large couch, love seat and chair were all made of dark brown leather covered in different patterned, black and white, western styled blankets. The floor was dark brown hardwood that was mostly covered by a rug that had a similar pattern and colour as the blankets.
By the time Charles and I were done being in shock about how cool the whole mansion looked, we soon realized that we must have looked like idiots because we were just standing in the middle of the living room staring off into space. I mean that literally because the ceiling looked to be painted like a galaxy. Until you looked at it close enough, you were able to see that the galaxy was rotating as if earth was spinning normally through a whole new galaxy, it was then that we realized that is was way more than just some painting.
When we were done staring off into space we looked around to see that my mother had left us alone in the room with my unconscious father, to this day Charles nor I still cannot tell you when she left the room.
About half an hour later my mum came in, followed by a kid who seemed to be about sixteen or seventeen except a lot shorter but still taller than us, probably around 5’3”. My mother had stopped and stepped out of the boys way making it so she was standing awkwardly beside the living room entrance, “Boys, this is Tybalt. You may call him Ty.” My mum said smiling uncomfortably.
The boy walked past her smiling at us then walked towards my somehow still unconscious father lying on the couch, the kid touched his face with his left hand and closed his eyes for a moment then turned and walked out of the room. Soon after Ty left the room my mum walked towards the largest of the couches that my dad was on and sat down beside him.
Charles and I still hadn't moved from our spots in the middle of the living room when Ty had come back in with a tray of four drinks, he handed Charles a large glass of green tea, apparently made just the way he likes it, handed me a glass bottle of cola cause in my opinion that’s the best kind, and afterwards he handed my mum a mug full of coffee I assume also made the way she likes it and set down a glass of what looked to be blood on the coffee table.
