Chapter Three

2003, Macon, Georgia

It was a year ago that I met Synthia, Jasper's girlfriend. It was Easter afternoon that she first stepped though our family's doors.

The first thing I noticed was the height difference. She's around 5'2 which is pretty short compared to me and my brother's height of 6'2 and 6'3.

But once you get a good look, you instantly fall in love with her. She has a perfectly round face, with a curly bob complementing her face shape. Synthia's hair has a magenta streak that matches her violet eyes.

She has the cutest button nose, with big eyes, pale skin, and rosy red cheeks. Synthia wore the cutest spring dress and a matching hat.

We invited her in as she gave me and my parents warm hugs. We sat outside by the pool, chatting about pretty much everything.

Jasper loves photography and wanted to carry out his hobby as a career. So he sent his profolio to a bunch of art schools years ago. As usual, he got accepted and rejected, but he decided to go to SCAD, which is a famous art school in Savanah which is conveniently a few hours south of Macon.

Synthia goes to SCAD too for photography, so it's obvious where they met. Synthia wasn't just good though at photography, she entered a bunch of contests and got 1st 2nd 3rd or honorable mention in most of them.

Jasper continued to brag that she's so smart, she ended high school with a 3.9 GPA which is nearly the highest you can get. She got accepted to a bunch of smart schools all over the U.S. with part and full scholarships.

I'm strait, but I have to say, Synthia almost turned me gay.

She isn't 100% perfect though as she seems to be. Alone, without my parents listening, Jasper told me that she's an alcoholic. Every other Friday she likes to go to bars with her friends.

She's 22, so it's not like she's illegal or anything, but it still worries me to this day. I know Synthia's smart, and I'm sure she drinks responsibly, and never does stupid things like driving under the influence. But even smart people do stupid things while drunk. I just don't want her to cheat on Jasper without even realizing.

Overall, Synthia's near perfect, but for whatever reason, I still have a bad feeling about her...
