Chapter Four
2004, Macon, Georgia
I would try to play hooky, but if you really think about it, what the point of missing school on purpose?
If I miss one day of school regardless what time of year, I'd be missing notes in just about every class, missing homework in just about every class, and I'd have to make up about four tests that happened to be on the same day.
AND, since Caroline and Fiona and the other brats need more gossip, they'd probably come up with a theory of why I'm absent that'd be SO incredibly off from the truth, that I would be screwed with my social reputation until graduation.
So I go just to keep it safe.
I walk up to my locker a few minutes before the bell, expecting the worst. And as I usually am with this stuff, I'm right. I open my locker to a nice big note made of pink sharpie which made the whole thing seem ten times fancier.
It read:
"I ship Hessie! Deal with it."
I just think to myself those son of a... when the bell stoped my thought mid sentence, as I tore up the note and collected my books.
It soon became second period. Then almost third. Whoopie, I thought as the bell rang for third. Third period is biology, with Hansen and Fiona. I fumble around with my books, I'm so nervous. I planned out in my head that maybe if I ignore her she'll stop passing me notes.
Before I knew it, everyone escaped to class, and I was the only one left. Except as I was closing my locker, I saw a boy out of the corner of my eye. I'm sure you could imagine why I was walking extra fast to class...
