"Where would you like me to start with the history of vampires, my birth, or here and now?"
"The history of vampires if you don’t mind."
'Sure do you want to talk here or on the balcony?"
"On the balcony is fine." I say as I get out of the bed. Then I realize that I’m wearing a light nightgown that I have never seen before and one that I was certainly not wearing when I came here. Emilia follows my gaze.
"Oh yeah, your other clothes were covered in blood and ripped so I had to dress you in something else till they are cleaned and repaired. I promise I didn’t look or anything." She says in a rush while blushing furiously which is not something I thought vampires could do. We both stand there awkwardly not meeting each other’s gaze. After a little while she walks over to the closet, takes out a black cloak and hands it to me from across the bed.
"Here. Shall we go to the balcony?" She says as she gestures toward the glass doors.
"Alright." I put the black cloak on and find that it is surprisingly warm and fits me perfectly. When I look out over the edge of the balcony I can only stare in wonder at the forest like city below. There are so many people or vampires and they are all so tiny it makes me realize just how high up we are.
"What do you think?" My amazement is interrupted by the question. I turn and look at the young but not young silver haired queen. The wind blows away her next question.
"Can… me?"
"WHAT?! I can’t hear you!" I yell back at her we are really close but I still can’t hear anything she says. She says something again but I point at my ears to try and show her I can’t hear. She seems to realize that communication up here is impossible so she grabs my hand and pulls me back inside. Once we're inside I start laughing, I just crack up laughing.
What’s wrong?" Emilia is looking at me with concern.
"That was amazing!" I yell. "Oh sorry, we’re inside now and can hear each other fine."
"Sorry, I forgot you don’t know how to mind link yet. Let’s just sit in here." We sit down in the red chairs in the corner.
