“Mom, what time is it?” Kat asked, looking around for a clock.
She glanced at her watch. “Eight at night,” she looked at her daughter with a worried face. “Don't go into the realm tonight. Please. You’ll have to stay here longer otherwise.”
“Okay mom,” Kat replied. “I don't even know if I want to go back.”
“Alright then,” she replied, rising off of the bed. “I'm going to head back home for the night, I'll come pick you up in the morning if they say you're good to come home.”
“Goodnight mom.” Kat said, settling down into the comforting sheets, as if a cloud was embracing her.

“Hello Kat,” Lily was standing in front of her. “Would you like to travel to the realm tonight?”
“What are you doing here?” Kat responded in shock. “I'm not in the realm, am I?”
The flower sister laughed. “No, silly. You're at the gateway to the realm. Each night I will show up here unless you specify to me that you don't want to go to the realm, for say, a week.” Lily stopped to take a breath. “When you arrive here I will then proceed to ask you if you will want to travel to the realm. If you don't wish to travel, you will continue your sleep patterns as normal. Make sense?” The girl asked, smiling.
“Yes, thank you.” Kat replied, nodding her head. “However, I do not wish to go to the realm tonight. I'm in the hospital and they're watching my pulse, so it'd be best if I had normal sleep patterns.”
Lily looked dejected that Kat couldn't travel to the realm tonight. “Will you come tomorrow?” She asked, looking up at her with big, brown eyes.
Kat smiled. This girl was like a younger sister she had never had. “It depends on if I'm released from the hospital or not. But if I can, I will, okay?”
“Yay!” Lily jumped up excitedly. “My sisters Rose and Petunia still need to meet you, and of course Buttercup needs to meet you as well!”
Buttercup? Isn't that mom’s sister? “Buttercup? Who’s she?”
“Oh, well, she’s the one that keeps everything in order and creates the general rules for the realm so that no one gets hurt. She’s basically the boss.” Lily glanced down at her wrist, as if to look down at a watch, though nothing adorned her tiny wrists. “Okay, you are off to dreamland! I'll see you tomorrow!”
Kat’s dream vision went black as she drifted off into a deep sleep.
