But there was one day I remember oh so very well. It was the day the Zinas arrived. Days and weeks before that day use Jewish children were already being called to go somewhere we don’t know, all I knew was that it was bad. Very, very bad. I was in class and Miss Otto was teaching use about the Jewish alphabet, she was smiling and it seemed like a beautiful day. Her warm, nice smile radiated throughout the class room, the clock read 7:45 AM when it happened. “Heila?” Miss called as my best friend stood up from her seat, she was in front and was closest from her “What is th-“ she started but was interrupted as a monster barged through the door. Everyone was silent as the monste- oh no a ZINA! . It was the Zina, but I couldn’t do anything, I quickly hid under the table and shut my eyes really tight. “Good morning Sir what may I do fo-” I heard Miss Otto said as she was interrupted “Auf Weidersehen Frau” I heard the monster garble and gibber as I suddenly heard a loud, ear piercing gunshot, it was just a sudden BOOM!!! Followed by the agonizing screams of Miss Otto, oh god. God have mercy on Miss Otto please god this must not be happening please, please, please help us. I cried and whimpered as I heard Miss Otto, in intense and extreme pain and agony scream in urgency “RUN! EVERYO-” followed by another loud, BANG!
I hastily stood up as I turned to see the bloody, bleeding corpse of Miss Otto, a hole in her Shoulder, another one on her chest. Oh God, have mercy on Miss Otto’s poor soul. I watched her bleed as a pool of dark red crimson started to pool around her chest. Miss Otto was no longer here, she has flown, maybe laughing with Grandpapa now. I felt a waterfall of tears form below my eyes as I lifted my head to see the Zina, looking up at me with it’s dark, empty and cold eyes. It was as Nana described it, the Zina was a humanoid heap of coal dark oil, moving about as screams emitted from its gaping, big mouth. It was blind, yet I felt it had eyes. It looked human, yet it wasn’t.
I turned and ran teary eyed as I move myself as fast as my weak, frail legs could- I heard gunshots and horrifying screams followed by the same small pause- a *tick* sound was always made before I heard another sound. I ran and ran as I shut my eyes doing it, home was not near so I continued to propel myself forwards the small brown shape I saw within the tall, dark trees. I looked around as I ran, hearing the screams of the old wise trees. I dense, dark woods made me see faces within the tall dark oaks, I used to see them smile but now, I saw them cry. The towering, leafy giants watched over me like guardian angels as they shed their tears, all dropping on to my face then dripping its way to the soil. The trees reminded me of papa, especially this one tree I saw as I moved through the dead forest. It was tall, thin, white and leafy, it was unlike any other of the trees in the forest. It was more smooth and light, but what made it look like papa as the big, sappy, gaping hole that was engraved on it. It reminded me of the huge, booming sound that emitted from the rifle. It reminded me of the crimson that drooped and leaked from Papa’s head. I remember seeing his smile. Papa.
I arrive as I see the old, withering brown acacia door open to reveal the image of a scared Mama cupping her mouth and crying as she quickly urged me to seek shelter in her home. “T-the Zinas have arrived Zina- quickly! To the emergency room!” she whispered, the panic in her voice rising with the tension. She points towards a small door in the wall concealed by a couch as my mama went in first, “Quickly Zeta! Here!” She urged as the sound of distorted muffled screams echoed from the far distance.
The screams, were the gurgled screams of my grandmother. I saw her burst as a black, disgustingly thick liquid escaped from every corner of her body, dripping into a humanoid alien creature. A pitiful thing it was, sloshing as it continuously lost its form- oozing as it ripped apart slowly- then rearranging as eyes emerged from what seemed to be its head. Staring at me as a big hole drilled in its mouth, teeth also erupting from the area as it screamed.
It screamed in pain. It screamed in agony. It screamed in fear. It screamed in anger
