We were so confused we couldn't move let alone sit down anywhere, especially when the tray Ty was carrying turned into a glass of scotch. When we finally snapped out of our confusion and said our thank you’s for the drinks all we got was a small smile in return. I looked up at my mum with curiosity because I just had to know why our host hadn't said anything, “Hey mum, why hasn't he said anything? Not be rude or anything, I'm just curious. Also aren't we supposed to be meeting an old friend of yours? Is this their kid?” I asked trying not to sound too rude but I didn't know how else to ask.
Ty just looked at me and smiled brightly it looked like it was the funniest thing the guy has ever heard and I still didn't know why.
“Abe, Ty is mute. And no, Ty is not my friends kid, he is my friend.” My mum said, partially embarrassed for needing to speak for Ty.
I felt really embarrassed about the whole situation, but apparently not as much as Charles because he seemed really antsy for some reason.
Ty walked up to me and apparently reassuringly grabbed my hand in a handshake then put his left hand over top. Like I said, to him it was reassuring but to me it was just plain awkward. Then it hit me.
When I looked back at Charles my suspicion was correct. He wasn't antsy because of the situation but because we had been driving for about five hours, and not once did we stop to go to the bathroom. So I figured that the second Charles had taken a drink of his tea it was probably a very crude awakening, he most likely realized that he really had to go to the bathroom.
While Ty was still holding onto my hand, smiling down at me. Me being me, I very awkwardly asked him “where's the bathroom?”.
Ty looked up at me in shock which quickly turned to embarrassment, his smile definitely gone. He grabbed my hands and started pointing in some odd directions and that's when I started to feel embarrassed, “No, no, no, it's not for me. It's for him.” I said pointing in the direction of the now dancing Charles.
In a flash Ty was at Charles and kneeling down a little, so that he could be at least somewhat face to face with him. Ty then gave him the long and oddly complicated directions to the bathroom, he ran out of the room so fast after getting the directions I could have sworn he himself was a vampire.
While Charles was gone to the bathroom, Ty and my mother had walked off to go outside leaving me alone in a very large and overly complicated house on my own.
While I stood alone in the middle of the living room, I started to feel really bored. It felt like I’d been standing there for hours, being a seven year old in the middle of a new and exciting place you start to get antsy. So once again, me being me. I decided to go and “explore” the strange, colourful yet dark mansion. By explore I mean snoop. In my head all I could think about was that I was a seven year old boy who can do whatever I wanted as long as I don’t get caught.
My first stop was the kitchen, I walked straight out of the living room and passed the front door. I continued going straight passed the stairs and headed right into the kitchen. I found it a little odd however that the front door would be across from the stairs and the kitchen across from the living room.
I found nothing out of the ordinary just an everyday normal paranormal kitchen with the dishes cleaning themselves, the broom sweeping the floors, and a few odd bones and herbs scattered about the kitchen counters in bowls. Other than that, it’s a pretty normal witch kitchen or warlock kitchen in that case. The only odd thing was that there were two doors, one is obviously the door to the cupboard but the other was different.
