The outskirts of Ravissant Brotherhood
Lucifer landed on a branch of a large mango tree. Having the wind knocked out of him, he lay on the branch for a couple of minutes, catching his breath.
Getting up and looking around, he confirmed that he was in the future. There were strange-looking transport mechanisms, and high-tech drones were flying everywhere.
Grinning from ear to ear, he pounced off the branch and floated to the ground. Being a God had its advantages!
As he walked towards the entrance to the Brotherhood, he was stopped by two guards who asked for his identification. Confused, he asked, “My what?”
Exasperated, the guard showed Lucifer his own ID card. In that instant, Lucifer grabbed his arm and propelled him to the ground. The other guard conjured a lightning bolt that made Lucifer stay at a certain distance.
Surprised, Lucifer asked, “How are you doing that?”
Looking at Lucifer like he was a schizophrenic, the guard answered, “This is the basic element of my family. I trained and mastered it at the Ravissant Enchantment Academy.”
Now everyone has powers, Lucifer guessed. “This must end now. Deteriorate.”
Nothing happened. Gods can’t wound humans, he realised, and was thrown off balance due to lightning discharged from the guard’s hand. Realising that he can’t win, Lucifer quickly teleported away. Appearing inside the city, he angrily punched a wall in frustration. Just what have you done, Jacques Rachine?

Noon
Warrior’s Mess Hall, Kingfisher Avenue, Ravissant Brotherhood
Jacques, now an adult, was awaiting the arrival of the new Warrior recruits. His wife, Jeanne was sorting the Warrior manuals. Drinking a cup of tea, he saw a man enter the mess hall. It was Anarax Khine Tuthe, the leader of the Armie, and the legendary Warrior that united the whole continent after two years at war. He was also Jacques’ best friend.
“Hey man,” Anarax sat next to him. “I found something you might want to hear. It’s about Lucifer.”
Instantly on alert, Jacques asked, “Has he been sighted?” “He was last seen in Saejonian territory, and he had changed his appearance to suit his role as the God of Armageddon.” Anarax passed him a sketch. Jacques inhaled sharply when he saw it. Lucifer looked like a monstrosity. His face now resembling a dark skull, and his eyes growing a faint green.
“The man is a devil,” he stated.
Jeanne came up to him, “The only thing we can do is wait for him to come back, and then defeat him.”
Anarax grinned, and added, as the new recruits entered the hall, “And when that time comes, we’ll be relying on you Warrior Grandmaster Jacques Rakhine.”
