Wearing the correct clothing during a zombie apocalypse will not only keep you warm and insulated, but it could also end up saving your life.
~ Wearing thick clothes like denim and leather will prevent zombies from scratching or biting you, but it may leave a mark afterwards. I would suggest wearing a leather jacket and jeans, as these things will keep you a lot more protected than something thin like a t-shirt. Leather is also waterproof, which will keep you warmer during rain and snow.
~ It will get extremely cold in the winter and at night, so if your clothes don't insulate you very well, you could easily die from hypothermia. Make sure that your clothes are thick enough to keep you warm, which could mean wearing multiple layers.
~ If you can, pick out dark colours like black and grey, as not only do they absorb more heat, but it will also help to make you more stealthy. Also make sure that your clothes have plenty of pockets, which can be used to carry extra weapons, food and supplies that you might find. An alternative to this is to use a strong rucksack with a lot of space inside.
~ Make sure you're wearing comfortable and durable shoes. I would suggest combat boots as they provide good support and are very strong, but running shoes, walking boots and normal boots will also be a good choice.
~ Wearing something to cover your face, like a bandana, a medical mask or a mask used in spraypainting is a good idea because it will protect you against anything harmful that could be in the air, such as chemicals or harmful pathogens.
~ If possible, wear protective clothing, such as body armour, a helmet, knee and elbow pads, combat gloves and protective goggles.
