“Are you alright?” I questioned Shiro. Shiro didn’t respond at first, opting to help me off the floor and lead me to the car instead.
“I’m fine.” Shiro yawned, as we waltzed over to the driver’s seat. I must have been glaring or making a face, because suddenly Shiro blurted out, “Don’t worry I have a license.”
“That’s not- Ah whatever, good to know.” I shook my head trying to quickly get my thoughts in order before I forgot to ask, “What do you use then?”
“Huh?” Shiro blinked.
“Pronouns?” I tilted my head.
“Oh that, he and him is fine.” He paused, “And… Don’t worry so much about… I know Freyaa didn’t mean it like-”
“I know.”
“She’s pretty awful sometimes but she’s definitely not THAT bad.” He said it in almost a comical sense, clearly, he’s had to put up with her attitude for a while.
“I wouldn’t imagine her to, she’s not a hypocrite. I’ll get her to apologize.”
“You don’t need to do that.”
“Are you sure? I really think she should…” I remained quiet for a moment, it didn’t seem like I would get a response, so I decided to change the topic. “You’re a Lucidian right?”
“Well, yeah.” He gestured vaguely, the eyes were kind of a dead giveaway, white pupils are far from a common trait, but I didn’t really want to make any assumptions. Also, I didn’t know Lucidians could express heterochromia. His right eye was green, and the left was blue, but they looked so similar in saturation that you’d overlook it if you weren’t paying attention.
“Cool.” I stared out the window for a while, collecting my thoughts. Shiro is a bit of an oddity to me. Someone trustworthy enough to have lab access, not to mention trained enough to be allowed to drive this van. Not on any black lists or watches. Was important enough to become a Falon clone. Blonde. Somehow able to drive Freyaa’s car and not be thrown in jail or annihilated by Freyaa. At the same time Freyaa seems to hate him with a burning passion. Yet somehow out of all of that I have never met or even heard of this person before in my life. I know I’m oblivious but that’s just ridiculous.
