“How the hell do you expect me to work with this crap!” A loud crash came from inside. “I’m not going to use these damn scraps, I want whole samples!”
“You first, indestructible.” Jackie pushed him through the door, following close after. “I don’t want my head ripped off.”
“What?!” As they entered the room, Avery ducked as a glass beaker filled with a green liquid was thrown out the door. When it shattered in the hall, two cleanup droids quickly cleaned it up.
A very frightened intern scrambled out of target range when he saw a way out. “I’m not done with you!” Sally yelled after him, she noticed Avery standing there. “You let him out.” If her dreadlocks where snakes, they would be baring teeth.
“Now you’ve done it, she’s gone supernova angry. Have fun.” Jackie pushed him forward, with an evil grin.
“Jacqueline?”
“And the moment’s gone.” Jackie mumbled. “Dr. Christian, how nice to see you!”
“You weren't going to sacrifice your RC to Sally, were you?”
“Why on Earth would I let my Robotic Companion, who follows me everywhere and gets on my nerves, be ripped to pieces for fun. I would never do that!” She hugged Avery who looked overly embarrassed. “So what tested do we need to do?” Jackie quickly changed the subject and turned to Sally, who was now calm and not resembling Medusa.
“Oh, just a little thing we have to do, nothing big.” The door closed and locked behind Dr. Christian.
“And that would be?” Jackie gulped.
“Blood test.” Both Dr. Christian and Sally said at the sametime.
“No. No! No, no, no! I’m not going to let you jab me with needles!” Dr. Christian lunged at her, she dodged and ran for the door.
“Avery, stop her!”
“Touch me and I’ll dismantle you!” Jackie slid past him and pulled on the door. “Locked!” She spun around and looked for an exit. The door to the balcony stood open, Jackie faked to the left, dashed from Dr. Christian, swerved around Avery, and jumped past Sally. She slammed the door shut and held it closed. “Ha!” Jackie stood triumphantly outside.
