Fasgur¹ was pacing around in his quarters, he had just returned from a meeting with the other leaders of the Scardain Triumvirate. The other leaders commended him for the large amount of Orcs that were deployed at various hotspots. The armistice with Aegis² was being upheld and the Erde-alliance³ made no moves to contest all the land Scardain had claimed.
All should have been well, (great even) still Fasgur kept pacing around in his quarters. It did not take long before his absence was noted and his adviser Kar⁴ entered his cabin.
“The captain was wondering why his ship kept bobbing without any waves, so he sent me to check up on you. What is going on Fasgur? You’re making Moti⁵ sick with all that negative energy.”
“The humans, they denigrate me, they call me Smarts because I can reason on the same level as them! Because I am smarter than the rest of my kind! They see me as a better example of our race instead of seeing those filthy hordes as a lesser part! If they would be eradicated, it would better our race!” Fasgur yelled, showing no intention to stop with his pacing.
“They are still Orcs, Fasgur!” Kar rebuffed. “You can’t plan to kill your own kind?”
“They are not my kind, they destroy and they kill without reason! They debased our god and made him into the tyrant he is today!” Fasgur stopped pacing and looked at his advisor while she approached him. He lifted his arms on instinct, expecting to be hit. Only to be met with a stern look.
“The Humans debased our god! They are the ones who tricked him. You should know better, Fasgur. Now stop scorching your bootprints in the woodwork and listen. We cannot keep sending Orcs away to die a useless death. We will not get our god back that way. We need to show that we are better than this.” She raised her hand to let it rest on Fasgur’s shoulder.
“In the beginning, Roargh was no god. Roargh was nothing. Not even a name…. We must hold ourselves to a higher standard just like our god Kurago⁶ as that was his name and with our efforts will be again.”
