AND JACQUELYN HAD LEARNT THAT SOME THINGS WERE BEST KEPT THAT WAY.

The plan: Lying. Lying to keep previous lies hidden. Lying to keep lies told to keep lies hidden. Repeat. Romance was never part of the plan, especially not after Jacquelyn had discovered its dangers.

At least, not until Zac Steel came along. While Jacquelyn cloaked in lies and secrets, hidden beneath her cover of shadows, Zac ruled the spotlight, drawing attention towards her with every glance. Each time his eyes fell on her, paired with his signature smirk, he seemed to see right through her and be able to unravel her secrets, one after the other...

If Zac could uncover her disguise so quickly , what if others had already done so a long time back?

But Zac doesn't know that the secrets she holds are darker than simply being a girl who is undercover as a nerd. By the time the bad boy realizes that -while trying to uncover her layers of lies, will it be too late?!

Will he already be trapped in a game of secrets?

Someone's bound to get hurt," she attempted to keep her voice firm and steady, but failed miserably when her voice cracked, and a flash of hurt ran through her face, betraying her mission, before being hastily covered with an emotionless mask.

"Perhaps we'll get burnt, but at the end of the day we will be there to tend each others wounds."
