I woke up to my mothers voice. It was four in the morning and I peered out the small window of the cabin only to see a dark and mysterious ocean.
"We're getting off!" She said, and gently hit me over the back of my head as I sat up. "Get moving kid."
"I'm sixteen." I muttered as I stood up and quickly changed into my flannelette shirt and overalls. I had never been one to care for fashion. It was a matter of whatever was easiest, or suited the weather best.
Shoving my clothes into my suitcase, I took Zeth by the hand, letting him carry his own backpack this time, and followed my Mum off the boat.
Standing on the dock I peered back up at the boat, it was a sure ten meters above the water level, and could clearly house hundreds of people, but only two other people got off the boat. A stern looking boy with salt white hair, a hard jawline, and icy blue eyes. He looked like a model and was about the same age as me. The other person was a pepper haired girl who seemed to cling to him like the world would end if she didn't... But it was strange. They just didn't give off that romantic vibe, but they also didn't appear to be siblings.
"So... Where are we going Mum?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest before Zeth reached up and took my hand again.
My Mother pulled out a map, her plump hands struggling to unfold it.
"Where are you going to?" An anguished sounding voice asked from behind us.
"Onyx Canopy." My mother replied, turning to face the salt haired boy. "Sorry, we've moved here from Australia." She smiled at him.
"Oh! You must be the rich bastards who bought the Red's too.!" The Pepper haired girl exclaimed excitedly.
"Ignore her." The white haired boy said. He had the slightest German accent as he spoke. "Follow us. We live very close."
My mother gave them one last smile and off we set.
