It hadn't worked. Brooklyn had tried over and over again once when she woke up. Nothing worked, and she had just failed over and over and over again. The day had gone by, and it had become the next.
Once when Brooklyn had arrived at school, she had done what she had normally done. She would go over to a table every day before school, so that she can meet her friends, or as they called themselves, The SKWAD. She stood right next to Jesse. He noticed that she was there, and they gave each other a hug.
"So how's your day so far?" Jesse asked.
"Good!" Brooklyn answered. "How about you?"
"I'm good."
They smiled at each other, and Brooklyn started to brush her fingers through Jesse's hair. By doing this, it had relaxed her and had made Jesse do a light chuckle. Brooklyn had stopped doing this after two more strokes through Jesse's hair.
Suddenly, it was hard for Brooklyn to breath, and had started to hyperventilate. She was getting dizzy. She was feeling weak and tired. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew something was happening. She couldn't hear anything, but she saw people yelling at her. She fell down and couldn't see anything, but she could hear know.
She was hearing people yelling, but she didn't know what they were yelling. There were too many voices at once. Her body had started to move uncontrollably, and she was still having trouble breathing.
What's happening? She though. What's going on? Then she just saw darkness.
