Everyone went silent, too busy watching the siblings in front of them. Everyone except me, I was studying the girl who claimed to be Tyler's sister.
She was tall, with skin the color of mocha. Her hair nearly matched Tyler's but it was much longer, causing most of the curls to grow out into long waves. Her eyes were a dark shade of brown, almost black. She had a button nose and a heart shaped face with a single beauty mark next to her right eye. She gave Tyler a sarcastic smile and tilted her head to the side.
"You can't be here."
"Why not," she raised an eyebrow," You're here. They've granted you, a hybrid, permission to stay. Why wouldn't they allow one of their own?"
"Oooohhhh. I get it. It's because of her," she nodded towards me," Your little mate, isn't it?"
"Teresa," he said slowly, a warning clear in his voice as yellow started to bleed into his perfectly turquoise eyes.
"You know, you're really being very rude right now. You haven't even introduced me."
"I won't warn you agai-"
I stepped up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. He stopped to look at me, the yellow starting to retract. I turned to her and she gave me an annoyed look.
"My name is Nova, you are Teresa?"
"That's my name."
"Why have you come to the Jade Forest Pack?"
She smiled brilliantly at my question, like a child on Christmas day that has opened the best gift ever.
"I've come to reclaim what is rightfully ours," she turned to Tyler," Thomas wants you home, brother."
I shouted vainly at my future Alpha as he pushed my mate up to the wall and pinned his arm across his throat, his gaze nothing short of murderous.
"What are you talking about," Tyler replied quietly, eyeing the arm that threatened his life.
"Explain why 7 of my men are found dead along with my little brother struggling for his life by your sister not hours after I invited you to stay in my territory."
"I. Don't. Know."
Mike let out a low growl in reply to Tyler's answer. A growl that he relayed back along with flashing his eyes yellow.
"Tyler," I said slowly," don't. You can't."
He didn't reply. Instead he grabbed Mike's arm and pushed it away from him slowly, twisting it as it got further away.
"Please, please breath, Tyler. Calm down."
In a flash he had his hand wrapped around Mike's throat. I watched with fearful eyes as he scratched against the hand before realizing the hybrid's superior strength. His Adam's apple bobbed as he gave a nervous gulp.
"Please," I whispered again, this time putting my hand on his arm.
He turned to face me.
"Nova," he said, sounding strained. I gave him a smile before putting my other hand on top of his, over Mike's throat.
"You need to let go..."
He closed his eyes and took rough breaths. In through the nose and out though the mouth. In through the nose and out though the mouth. He nodded quickly.
"Okay, on 3 then we'll let go together. Ready?"
"Yes," he replied in a small voice.
"1, 2," this time I took a breath," 3."
We let go, releasing a very relieved Mike.
Tyler put his arms around me and buried his neck into my shoulder while I glanced at Mike who was glaring at us. Ben over. With a hand over his neck very protectively.
"Mike, I'm so-"
"Get.. him out of.. here before.... I change my.. mind."
I frowned a bit but nodded at his command, turning to leave with Tyler.
I sat in that damn chair watching that fucking girl as she stared at me. We sat like this for a good 5 minutes or so before she just randomly started laughing. Who the hell does that?!
"What is so funny," I snapped, more than tired of being on watch dog duty.
"What," she asked innocently," Embarrassed to be in the same room as me? I can't say I blame you, I did kick your ass."
I stood up from my chair to face her better from her position of dangling from the ceiling, her toes just barely touching the floor when she stretched them and her hands tied above her head. I can't imagine it's very comfortable.
I rolled my eyes at my wolf, he has an ego bigger than the Sears Tower so he was less than happy with the idea of sitting in the same room as this girl.
"Teresa, was it," she smirked in reply," I'll take that as a yes. You can either tell me now or much, much later what you're doing here."
She raised an eyebrow at me. Letting out a chuckle, I turned around to grab my "tools", I decided on the long, skinny knife.
"Fine, have it your way, just know that I prefer it this way," I held up the knife in front of her," Do you like it? It's my favorite, actually."
"Good for you."
"I should probably tell you this now," I said as I walked behind her, dragging the tip of the blade against her skin in the process," I'm not a professional at this, but our actual 'interrogation' guy is out today."
"Should I count myself lucky?"
"Only if you don't like art," I shrugged. She tried to reply but I was already starting on the patterns on her back.
For the most part I'm not into torture and all, but I love art and this girl is a threat to Nova and she hurt Holly. Nobody touches my sisters. Not today, not tomorrow-
