"Angel! Stop daydreaming please." My best friend, Erica King, sighed at me.
"It's not daydreaming Eri. It's thinking about the theories of life." I said, feeling my face muscles pull into a smile. Then I heard the sound of a picture. "Stop taking pictures of me Erica." I groaned.
"Oh shut up Angel. I can't wait till you get your eyesight." She changed the subject and held my clammy hand. "I wonder if you'll still like me as your friend." She rambled to me.
"Of course I will. It's not like I can get away from you." I joked, trying to keep me calm before I went into surgery. "I just don't know if I want to do this anymore. There's only a 80% chance I survive this Eri. I don't wanna die and leave you here." I blurted out after a couple of minutes sitting there, getting nervous again.
"Angel, your surgery starts in 3 minutes. I assure you that you will not die, it's a gut feeling and my gut is never wrong." She assured me, trying to calm my nerves the best she could. "Wanna listen to music Angie?" She put the earbud in my ear and some JPop started flowing in my ear.
"Ew Eri. I'd rather listen to KPop." I complained.
"Fine then Mr.Bossy." She groaned. The three minutes passed quickly and Dr.McClain called me in. I was scared out of my mind and it didn't help that I'm scared of surgeons.
~
"Okay Mr. Rodriguez, your surgery is over now. Just don't take those sunglasses off until an hour has passed and you'll be fine. Also, don't be afraid from now on okay." Dr.McClain said to me and honestly if I wasn't so scared I died then I wouldn't have listened.
"ANGEL!!" I heard Erica's voice and saw a skinny brunette burst through the door. "See you were okay. Ohmygosh I thought you died. Are we starting over again now or??" She asked me as I just stared at her. I always thought she was a blonde but I guess she isn't. She was a little shorter than me with shoulder-width hair brown hair, green eyes, and light brown skin.
"How can you say you're not cute Eri! You're adorable, how come no one likes you?" I gushed, loving this new upgrade to my body.
"I am most certainly not." She protested against me and her voice slowly got softer. "I'm pretty sure you're hungry so let's go get Wendy's okay." She offered and I smiled.
"Um, thanks Dr. I'll see you next week right?" I asked him.
"Yes. Have fun with that new sight of yours." He waved at me as I rushed to follow Erica to a much cleaner bathroom.
"Here. I found some good looking clothes in your closet that I thought would look great on you." Erica handed me a stack of clothes and smiled. "I hope you like your new life. Now get in there and change." She pushed me into a stall, cause now people like to use all gender bathrooms, and told me to hurry up.
I quickly took off that ugly dress thingy and changed into a light blue sweater with elbow patches, black jeans, and black vans. "Erica, how do I look?" I walked out the stall and showed her.
"You look great! Honestly you look better than I expected. I didn't know you had this in your closet until I saw it. Your mom has extremely good taste." Erica rambled, again.
"Erica, are we gonna get Wendy's or not?" I asked, about ready to take some soap and shove it in her mouth to shut her up.
"Of course! On the way you can see all of the pictures I've took of you." She squealed as she pulled me to her Mustang. "Strap up. I'm not going anywhere until I make sure you're safe." I put on the seat belt with a groan and she smiled as she put in the password for her phone. "Here. Take a look at your adorable self."
"I probably look ugly. Erica if I'm ugly then I'm suing you." I didn't want to look for I was scared that I didn't look the way I wanted. Taking a peek, I saw me. I had black hair, hazel eyes, and milky white skin. "Holy- I look beautiful Erica!" I gasped loudly and swiped quickly through it. There were pictures of me blindly blowing out candles for my nineteenth birthday last month, pictures of that smile I had in the doctor's office, my worried face; she had them all saved in her tiny phone.
"Erica. Did you really have to take all of these pictures?" Even though I could only see in one eye it was enough to see how she reacted.
"Of fucking course I had to take these pictures. I didn't want anyone telling you you're ugly or anything cause you needed to confident for the world. Also it told the world to fuck off when I put you as my wallpaper." She grinned as she parked her car. The car was moving?
"We're here!" Erica smiled as she pulled me out the car.
