The girl walked through the village, most the villagers by this time being asleep as she trotted along, her lantern's light that would usually stick out boldly within the darkness of this village, being almost overpowered by the light of the two gigantic moons that loomed over the mountain sides. The larger and closer moon giving off a light purple glow, it being referred to as Lestia by the villagers. The second smaller moon giving off a pale blue light from the distance, showing strange cross markings across it being known as Rytiere. According to legend these moons were crafted from the goddess Aria herself, who created them to light up the night skies for weary workers below and to overcome the god of the stars in a battle to who could make the darkness of night the brightest. The girl looked up at the skies, keeping her attention in particular within the clouds. It was also said that a third moon was being created, and it should one day arise from the island in which the gods resided... The city of Arimine...
It was also believed that if the moons strong brightly upon your village, that it was a night of many good finds and encounters... It was because if this that the girl wasn't all too surprised to see other scavengers out that night by the plenty... The girl watched the scavengers set to the hills as she realised that the direction she was heading may be a crowded one... She looked to the device in her hands, before looking back to the scavengers.... When she then decided to go in another direction. If one of those scavengers were to see her device, they would most likely tell the village chief... There was a legend behind the village head... It was heavily believed by those around the village that Arimine once landed within their village, the gods granting the founder of the village the miracle of leadership, so he could run a village with the power of gods... This was supposedly granted to each ancestor of the original leader, including the current village leader himself... the girl crept past a large wooden hut decorated in flags, hiding the small circular device within her hands. Though even if the legnd of her village wasn't true, she still found the village leader scary enough.
She decided to climb past the river, searching some fields just outside her village, which was when the device in her hand truly began to make it's use. The device game off a small chime, glowing a bright purple as the girl walked around the fields, catching her attention.
"Ah!" She uttered, following the light which began to grow brighter as she walked around with it.., When it then gave off another chime, the girl looking down, fetching out a small shovel from the side of her backpack, starting to dig. This device never failed her! From the ground beneath her, she picked up a strange piece of metal... However it was metal like this that the girl had gotten used to. Metals like this could be used to scavenge and make devices just like the one she had within her hand. She marvelled the metal for a moment, before she hummed merrily to herself, dusting it off... She continued to dust it off when she then took a closer look at it. The scrap metal, just as many others she had found, wore a strange symbol upon it, one that looked like diamond like star, with wing like rectangles coming from its side. Though she had very little idea what it meant or where this metal came from, it was pretty obvious it came from the ancient civilisations in which many adventurers came to venture their lands for. It had also became clear over the years that this metal was very good for creating objects in which nobody in the village ever had around them, a hobby in which the girl had picked up over the years. Even the tracker in her hands was made from materials she had found from this civilisation from long before, though it could only pick up on other objects like this... The girl placed the metal into her bag feeling quite proud with herself. It wasn't often whilst scavenging she actually could find a scrap metal. Being able to find one on this night, truly meant she had found a blessing...
The girl then got to her feet, dusting her herself off. That being said, it was unlikely that she would find another relic that night...
Is what she thought, however it was as she went to turn back to her shack that her sphere began to glow again, catching her attention... she stared at it curiously, before looking to her bag... Could it be reacting to the metal in her bag...? For a moment she considered putting the sphere away, believing this to be so... however.... She found herself moving the device in her hand around and as she did... She noticed a stronger reaction from across the river, the sphere giving a loud chime....
'What... Could that be...?' She thought to herself in curiosity before she jumped at the sphere giving another chiming sound from the sphere.... She put her bag down onto the ground slowly, before she then decided ti follow the sound light of the chime to wherever it was leading her. With each step, the spheres reaction becoming more wild.
'This must be it...' she thought to herself, jumping over the wall from across the river, balancing across it to follow the spheres light in a hurry. 'This is the blessing in which people spoke of!' She summed up to herself, feeling her hopes get up, a visible excitement being in her step as she followed the sphere's light, it twinkling along with the many star clusters above, which grouped down the sky almost like a path leading her to where she needed to be. By the time she had reached a point of finding something, the sphere in her hand was now bleeping rapidly, almost reverberating within her hand as she stopped, catching her breath, staring at something that caught her eye within the grass...
It was a fairly large item, much to the girls surprise... And it was because of this, the girl found herself approaching the item with a bit of caution... However, it was upon approaching the item, thst the girl's csutiin, chsnged to the of slight confusion as she gave a confused murmur...
Lying asleep within the long grass of the field she was in, lay who looked to be just an ordinary boy her age blue with black ebony hair... There were some stranger aspects about him in which she had never seen before... For example, he was a boy dressed in alot of of silver light and leather armour he wore over a black shirt and brown ragged shorts, as though he was warrior from another land... Around his neck was a battered red scarf, which had looked to have seen better days, and most curiously, beside him was a golden sword... One in which the girl had never seen before as she approached the boy, at first finding her attention being brought to the sword by his side, reaching out to touch it however.... Sh retracted her hand as she then glanced to the boy, feeling a little concerned... Was it normal for someone to fall asleep like this within the grass? It seemed possible for him to have passed out?
She decided ti aid to him before she would take a closer look at her belongings, as she began to move him onto his back, to check for any injuries... And as she did, it was then that something grabbed her arm, making her jump a little as she looked back down to the boy...
"You... Are you a thief...?" The boy questioned with his eyes to the floor in a rather weakened tone, his sudden actions against her taking the girl by surprise as for a moment she didn't know how to respond to him. However it was with a gulp that she summoned the courage to speak up...
"I... I'm not... I just wanted to know if you were okay..." the girl responded as upon hearing her voice, the boys defensive grip upon her seemed to soften...
"You... Sound young... Should you really be out this late at night...?" He asked her as the girl found herself rather curious with those words... Was he really one to talk...? Though with his curiosity into the matter, it made it clear that he was not from round these parts, if this wasn't a norm to him...
"People usually scavenge round here..." she told him as the boy began to shuffle upwards a little holding his head.
"And where is here...?" He inquired as the girl found herself to be a little surprised by this question. Though it was a small village, this area was a pretty well known area in this country.
"We are in Airin village, just a little south to the Shoro province..." she replied as the boy went to reply, before he then gritted his teeth, holding his stomach in pain. Much to the girl's surprise. "Are- Are you okay?" She inquired as the boy struggled to capture his breath... Before he gulped with a weak smile...
"So I am still pretty far huh...?" He uttered to himself, before he looked to the girl weakly, finally revealing his face to her.
"Sorry for worrying you... What is your name...?" He asked her as for a few moments the girl was left a little speechless... Both his eyes were a pale blue, almost white, looking completely fogged up as they gave off a slight glow. Though she had never seen a case like this before, it was clear from the moment she saw his eyes to the girl, that this person was actually blind... Did he make it to this village on his own like that...? The boy gave her a slightly confused expression. "Ex-Excuse me are you there...?" He asked, starting to look around at a loss as the girl jumped to react.
"Y-yes! I am here, sorry! Aria... My name is Aria!" The girl quickly introduced herself as the boy turned to face the direction in which her voice was coming from, seeming to become quite disorientated.
"Aria huh....?" He uttered, when quite suddenly his eyelids shut, as his body began to fall back much to her shock. "My name is... Rue..." he barely finished his sentence before passing out again, much to Aria's panic...
Aria looked around, slightly uncertain for a moment as she thought of what she could do... nurse Reeno was still talking to the head chief by this point... and outsiders weren't allowed in the village without meeting the village leader first... It was then that Aria took another glance to the boy known as Rue, after having actually spoken to him, seeing him in a slightly different light... And it left her with a few questions... he main on being-
"What is a blind child doing travelling to a village like ours...?" She uttered, feeling the winds that pick up as she rubbed her arms, looking back up to the sky... Some point this night, it seemed as though it could rain... Plus he seemed injured enough... Besides there was another question to ask about this as she raised up her tracking device... Why was it that this device reacted to this boy...?
Somehow, she had a feeling she wouldn't get her answers if she just left him here for morning as she lowered the sphere in her hands, looking back to the boy... When she then made sure her mask was firmly upon her face...
"Well then... I guess you were my blessing..." Aria mentioned, before she looked back to the stars above, making a choice that little did she know, would change many things in her life... A blessing from the very gods that she herself was named after, on the night she was dubbed a curse...
