"I guess the main question I should ask now, is what brings you to a village like ours..." Nurse Reeno then brought up, placing the ointment onto the bandages as Rue gave a awkward smile to her question.
"In all honesty, I didn't plan to find this place, just one of the villages round the area... I didn't really know where I would end up..." Rue explained as Nurse reeno then glanced up at his eyes.
"Ah yes... That..." she noted as she the sat up a little, airing out the bandages. "So was you born blind?" She took not a hesitation in asking as Aria flinched at the nurses straightforwardness.
"A-ah that..." Aria began as Nurse Reeno looked back at her placidly as she started to place the new bandages around Rue's chest.
"There's no need for doctors to be indirect... You cannot hide from a professionals eye..." she lectured Aria as Rue raised his hands up to his eyes a little.
"I wasn't born like this at all..." he replied as Nurse Reeno casually interrupted with a mutter.
"This may sting a little.." she warned him as the ointment stained bandages finally wrapped around this wound, Rue giving an uncomfortable expression as she continued. She was silent as she finished off his bandages, using pins and a natural glue in order to this it around him properly... Before she put her equipment down giving a small sigh.
"That should do it..." she mentioned before immediately jumping back onto their previous topic. "So you weren't born blind... Do you know the cause of it?" Nurse Reeno then inquired as Rue maintained a rather hesitant front to her line of questioning...
"To say that I know it... Not exactly..." Rue pointed out as Nurse Reeno gave a curious tone.
"How vague..." she uttered. "However if you wish, later this evening I can have a look at it for you and we can see what we can do-" she began, when Rue then cut in quite firmly.
"I... Sorry, however this is something I must fix on my own..." Rue mentioned, catching both the nurse and Aria off guard as the nurse looked at him rather surprised. Rue wore a rather determined expression upon his face a s he clenched his hands within his lap. "There's very little you can do anyway... Nobody I have met so far knows how to cure it... Though I have an idea... It's something only I can do..." he went in before he bowed his head slightly. "So thank you but-"
"Yes, yes, I get it... I'll let you do what you think is best then..." Nurse Reeno cut in his apologies. "You are a strange one aren't you..." she commented as Rue seemed to bite his tongue in slight flusterment at this remark. "But yes, I understand... I'd love to hear this idea of yours however I am afraid I must be getting back to work, I have left many of my current patients waiting. Hopefully my nurses have handled most of them but still..." she went on to herself as Rue nodded understandingly, scratching the back of his head.
"I see... sorry..." he replied as Nurse Reeno took a moment to stare at him thoughtfully... When she then looked back at Aria.
"This girl will answer any more of your questions when you get back... Though for now she must follow me, she too has work and can't dawdle around..." Nurse Reeno then noted as Aria jumped at the thought of this.
"Eh... But nurse is it okay to just leave him here alone-?" She began when Nurse Reeno snapped at her slightly.
"He's a young boy, he can find some ways to keep busy for when you get back... Our patients are of a high priority! Besides you need to come with me anyway to explain to chief about everything that has happened... " She scolded Aria who gulped at the thought of the village chief's opinion on this... Before with a shudder she looked down in defeat, nodding.
"Yes mam..." she answered as Nurse Reeno looked back to Rue.
"We'll be gone for a few hours... I'll talk to our village chief about having you stay here for the next week or so... You'll need to let your wound heal more before you go anywhere..." she explained as Rue nodded.
"I'll use this time to rest then, thank you..." he answered, nurse Reeno now picking up her basket of supplies and heading for the door...
"Is that so.., Then rest easy.." she answered, already taking her leave.
Aria took a moment to watch Nurse Reeno start making her exit... Before she then looked to Rue with a slight fidget... It was with this secondary glance she then decided to hurriedly run over to him, her sudden dash at him making him jump a little as he heard her footsteps quickly grow near.
"I-if you get hungry, there is some bread I made you earlier on the windowsill behind you... Oh and if you get into any trouble, then come out the building as ask the villagers to lead you to the clinic..." she hurriedly told him-
"Hurry up already!" Nurse Reeno called to her firmly as Aria jumped... Before she looked to and from from them... It was then that she grabbed her tracking device from her pocket, placing it within his hands, much ti his surprise.
"Wh-what is this..." he began as Aria began running off.
"It's just a small thing I made! When it's dormant like that it's fun to mess about with, play with it if you get too bored!" She cried as she then ran out as Rue found himself a little more lost with this explanation.
"Ah, hey wait a minute-" he began, his words falling flat as he heard the front door close... Rue gave a bewildered expression in the direction from where Aria's voice once came from... Before he raised the tracking device in his hands a little, getting a good feel of it to guess what it was, the sphere within the silver case it was in spinning slightly...
'Can you.... really get there...?'
His eyes narrowed faintly as he recalled that question...
"So you are saying that there is currently an outsider in the village...?" The village chief reaffirmed what he was now being told by both Nurse Reeno and Aria after the nurse had decided to stop by the chiefs manor house upon their way to the clinic.
"Uhm... Yes... I... He was injured..." Aria tried to explain herself as she lowered her head a little amidst stutters, Nurse Reeno taking her place with a sigh.
"He's merely a child... A blind injured one at that, so I don't think he will do us much harm..." Nurse Reeno mentioned as the Village chiefs stern stares in Aria's direction turned away from her as he nodded faintly.
"I see... Did he have any weapons?" He asked stoically as at once Aria gave a small jolt, recalling the very large and strange blade in which Rue was carrying around.
"From what I saw, he had no weapons on him..." Nurse Reeno replied casually as the momentary tension that had built up in Aria's body simmered down. She felt somewhat relieved that she put the sword away in a discreet place away from him as the village chief gave a thoughtful mutter to himself... Before he glared back at Aria... Making her flinch...
Aria stepped out the main hall to the chiefs manor, closing them behind her with a heavy sigh. She didn't know how but she only got away with a minor scolding this time... In worse case scenarios she would have been made to go clean out the chamber pots of everyone in the village or even made to sleep in the pig pens for the night.
"My that is a heavy sigh so early in the morning..." came a voice from beside Aria that made her jump a little as she looked to her left.
"Tr-Trei... It's you..." she uttered as Trie smiled from beside her warmly.
"That would be me!" He chimed as Aria then tilted her head at him a little.
"Say, what is it you are doing in the chiefs manor?" She then asked as Trei gave a large stretch whilst talking.
"I've just got some business with the chief! Super important adventurer stuff that I must keep secret" Trei noted, capturing Aria's attention.
"R-Really?!" Aria questioned, her intrigue shooting up as Trei opened one at her mid stretch with a smile.
"But what I want to know right now is if that heavy sigh had anything to do with you coming out from the chiefs office?" Trei then quickly changed subject as Aria then flinched upon him bringing it up... When she then looked down, kicking her foot around a little in a circular motion.
"Y-yeah... I ran into a bit of trouble earlier..." Aria then mentioned as Trei tilted his head at her.
"I'm all ears..." he mentioned as Aria raised her head, a small escape of air coming from her mouth as she went to speak... however it was then that she froze a little.
"Ah- I would... But I'm not allowed to let anybody in the village know, it's meant to be a secret..." Aria then imformed him, her legs returning to their state of swinging about as she seemingly became a little gloomy from behind her mask.
"Ah I see, you have a little secret of your own..." Trei remarked with a chirpy grin, when he then leaned down a little closer to Aria with a mischievous look to his eyes as Aria backed up a little shyly. "But let me tell you this... I'm not a proper villager aren't I? So I don't really count..." he then pointed out as Aria raised both her hands to her chest, taking a good moment to stare at Trei... Before she then looked back to the chief villagers door.. she quickly looked to and fro from them , before she then grabbed hold of Trei's hand putting her finger up to her mask.
"Follow me then! You must keep it a secret! A super duper ultra secret!" Aria then informed him as Trei nodded, letting Aria drag him off with a satisfied smile.
"Don't worry" he told her as they walked out the manor. "I always do..."
