Magic clans:

There are 3 main clans each are define by the type of magic they possess.

There are in total 9 branch families between these clans, that formed sub clans that reports to or are directly under the main clans.

Main Clans:

Dusk Clan-

The Dusk Clan are outcast in the whole of the world as their magic is considered ‘black’ magic, communing with familiars, animals that a house a second ‘soul’, they can transform these ‘pets’ into beast.

They move through shadows, can manipulate memories as well as summon the dead to life – Skeletal and flesh rotting Zombies… *Shivers*

The Dusk Clan though is small consisting of only 39 mages, only the first born children ever receive magical powers and where the mother loses her own when giving birth, unlike where women rule in the other clans the men are in charge of all clan and family matters.

Moon Clan-

The Moon Clan are the most secretive amongst the clans, following a strict hierarchy they even have their own ‘villages’ though no one knows where these villages are, and you might just end up passing through one without knowing it as they rarely reveal themselves as mages to outsiders.

Though they do not possess actual combat magic there are rare exceptions, these ‘prodigies’ are sought out treasures in their own clan and are forbidden from marrying/mating outside of the clan.

Moon Clan’s magical properties mainly consist of Healing and ‘Blessing’ able to invoke greater strength or speed in others, not themselves as well as clairvoyance and telepathy some have the ability to use sound magic as well which is extremely rare.

Dawn Clan-

The Dawn Clan’s-men are experts in combat magic taking form out of the elements; fire, earth, water, air, lightning, glass, metal and ice. And like the Moon Clan, they also follow a hierarchy.

One of the Elders are always working right beside kings and queens as Royal Mages. All mages must form a contract of one of the Elders when they turn sixteen, it also happens that there is an untold tradition that on the eve of their coming of age rites they may have one wish granted, one a handful ever learn of this as a great conflict had once arising with many mages trying to form sub clans of their own to gain more power for themselves. Signing a contract with an Elder increase the Elder’s own strength which is meant to protect their ‘coven’; Mages can only ‘sign under’ two contracts in their life, one with the Elder another with whomever, in the Elder’s case they sign under an agreement with the head of the coven and later with an heir who will inherit the contracts under the Elder. Head of a coven again signs under two others, the head of the whole Clan and an heir. The Head of the Clan and all of the covens can sign under whomever they chose often their spouse and an heir.

Twilight Clan-

The Twilight Clan consists of only 1 mage – Averisa, who used her right to a wish to be granted to free herself entirely from the Dawn Clan.

The Twilight Clan’s abilities are as of yet unknown, they seems to be heavily tied to either 'blood'/demon or black magic, as per her mother. The Clan is a traveling Clan.
