September 21st, 2017, 10:01 a.m.

Dalian watched as Alex stood still, shocked, for about five seconds before she began screaming. Dalian panicked and covered her mouth with his hand. “Shhh!” He hissed, “He could be anywhere!”

Alex wrenched free from his arms and kept screaming, “Who are?! What are you doing here?! How did you find me?! How do you know who I am?!”

Dalian heart raced, he checked all around them, afraid someone would find them here and misinterpret what was going, or worse, Robert would appear and kill them both. “Shh!” He said again, “Be quiet and I’ll explain everything!”

Alex shut her mouth closed, her eyes wide in fear. She clutched herself tightly, shivering in her bathrobe. Dalian groaned and rubbed his temples, this did not go as planned. He had imagined Alex to be like her parents, rich, proud, uptight, and always prepared for anything. Instead, he found an almost naked college girl living in a filthy college dorm screaming at him.

He sighed, “My name is Dalian Garcìa, as I mentioned before, I work for the D.B.S., your brother, Robert, has escaped and is on his way to kill you we believe. I've been sent to protect you and bring you somewhere safe.”

Alex frowned, “Bobby? But, why would he kill me? And that still doesn't explain how you know who I am, I thought the D.B.S. didn't have any files on me.”

Dalian smiled grimly, “They don't, I was sent by Imari, he used to work for you?”

Alex's eyes brightened and she smiled, “Uncle Imari sent you?” she frowned, “Wait, why would he send you instead of coming himself? And that still doesn't explain why Bobby would want to kill me! We were best friends when we lived together!”

Darian groaned again, “Imari is busy running his own D.B.S. unit, he sent me since we know each other well. And...Bobby,” Dalian sighed, if things were complicated before, this would only make things worse. But it had to happen. “Alex, this isn't easy to tell you, but...you're parents are dead. We believe Bobby killed them for giving him to D.B.S. We have reason to believe he may come for you next.”

Alex gaped at him before falling to the floor, “They...they're dead?”

Dalian nodded.

“But...but Bobby he...he couldn't have…” Alex swallowed hard and stood up. She ripped off her glasses and Dalian stepped back in shock as glowing blue eyes, previously hidden by large glasses glared furiously at him.

“You said he might come here?” She asked, her voice hard as ice.

“Er, yeah, uh, your-your eyes, they're um…”

“Don't ask. I still don't believe Bobby killed them, but if their killer might come for me, I say we use me as bait and catch the son of a-”

“Now hold on!” Dalian stopped her, “We can't use you as bait, I'm supposed to make sure you're safe! Bait is the opposite of that.”

Alex scowled. “Listen here buttercup, my parents are dead, and you want to do nothing to catch who killed them. And, I'm 19, a legal adult, I can make my own choices and my choice is to act as bait.” Alex frowned and picked up a phone from the table. “Hold on, let me tell Izzy I can't make it to her girls day out.”

Dalian stared in shock as Alex called her friend and told her that “Something important came up” and, “No, it's not just an excuse to skip out on you.” She hung up.

“There.” She said defiantly, “Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go get dressed and then, we're gonna catch ourselves a killer.”

What had he gotten himself into?
