Amy walked over to a door, Cameron and I followed, our footsteps echoing in the empty hallway. Opening the door, Amy looked inside. The room was strange, there was a table in the middle with awkwardly shaped watering cans, the walls were covered in shelves and weird, exotic plants. There wasn’t anyone inside, and it didn’t look like there had been for a while. The floor was close to being spotless, and the lights were off. All the surfaces were dusty, and the plants all looked like they were dying. Except for one, which was right across the room from us, on the other side of the table. I could barely even see the silhouette of the plant, it was covered in a strange shadow, and I didn’t know where it was coming from. Amy started walking over to where the living plant was, being careful not to trip on the thorny overhanging vines from the dead plants,
“Wait!” Cameron put his hand out, “Don’t go over there!”
Amy was distracted by Cameron yelling at her, and she tripped over a vine on the ground. Amy landed with her face flat on the ground, and there was a quiet, unsettling, squelch, followed by Amy sobbing and screaming about how much it hurt.
