Amy seemed to remember that she was missing an eye, “What… am I going to do? I only have one eye!” She ran her bloody fingers through her hair, “I won’t be able to throw or catch, I’ll walk into things, my mom’s going to kill me!”
Cameron tried to comfort her, saying that her mom would understand and she’d get used to it.
“Remember last year, when Cameron first dyed his hair?” I was bringing up the small part of Cameron’s bangs that was dyed blue, unlike the rest of his black hair. “His mom was surprised, but she understood, and she was okay with the change.” Cameron looked at me, he looked surprised, but happy that I had remembered something so insignificant about him. He smiled at me, I smiled back and leaned against the car door, remembering how tired I was.
