It might be kind of a stretch, but maybe what happened was Runa started to develop feelings for Fio thinking that he's just some weird forest livin' beard dude with no prospects in life and as it turned out that he's quite a charmer, perhaps she thinks that now he's out of her league and the idea of something happening is gone?
