Domino laid down beside Hans, Klaus handed her his binoculars and she observed for a moment.

- Okay Hans, focus on that doorway at the entrance, they should pop out any moment now. -

Hans moved the bolt of his rifle slightly backwards to make sure a round was chambered and then locked it back, he then tightened his grip on the rifle.
I grabbed my own binoculars and watched attentively as well, Helga and Klaus moved to the back to keep a watch on the back side of the building, the vehicles were now getting closer.

I shifted my focus to the church´s doorway, the door swung open and two armed men peeked from the sides and then moved out signalling the people inside to run out, a column of people began to pour out of the building and headed for the vehicles.

- There! The man with the green beret in front of the column! That´s the Captain! - Domino exclaimed.

Hans took a deep breath and pulled the trigger.

The lone shot rang in the air as I saw how the head of the man tilted backwards and his body slumped to the ground.
Needless to say frenzy ensued and the people began to panic and to run in every direction, some running back inside, other trying to get in the cars, others running off, the armed personnel began shooting in our general direction, luckily Hans´s rifle had a flash hider so they were not able to pinpoint our location but the guys in the motorcycles had and were heading straight towards us now, the armored vehicle was circling around the block, my guess is that they would try to block our escape route through the rear alley.

- The bald man with the khaki shirt and horned rimmed glasses, behind the black mercedes in the middle of the vehicle column, fire when ready. - Domino told Hans.

I shifted my view and found the man, he was trying to board one of the cars, Hans fired and I saw blood spurt out but he did not fall.

- You got him in the arm Hans, he is still breathing, fire again! - I said but it was too late, another man had gotten in the driver´s seat and drove off.

- Fuck, he´s getting away! - I yelled, the motorcycles began firing their machine guns, Hans, Klaus and Domino got away from the opening on the wall to avoid getting hit, there was an engine rumble coming from the back of the building, it was the armored car, we were surrounded.

- Hans, Domino, return fire up front. Klaus, you and I will distract the gunners in the back while Alex puts some grenades under the engine of that thing. - Helga said and handed me a 3 stick grenade bundle tied together that she had made earlier in the graveyard, we all nodded in agreement and got to it.

I ran downstairs as quickly as possible, shortly after the gunfire exchange began, when I got to the back door I placed my rifle down and took out the three grenades I had left.

I took a deep breath, removed the pins, ran to the side of the armored car, quickly tossed them and ran back inside barely missing the explosion.
After the loud boom I could hear a thud and some metal crunching, Klaus was laughing and yelled: - Whoa did you see that shit fly?!?!? -

I peeked outside and noticed that the car had flipped backwards and was now engulfed in flames, the chatter of the machine guns could still be heard on front of the building, Helga came downstairs shortly after.

- Alex give me a hand. - She said and ran to one of the windows in the front.

She broke it with the stock of her rifle and opened fire, I ran to the window on the opposite side and did the same, we quickly dispatched the drivers and gunners of the motorcycles as they were focusing their fire on the third floor only.

- Alex, we can use the bikes to go after the doctor. -  Helga said and I nodded.

She ran out and jumped in one of the bikes, I followed.

- Ummm... how do you turn this thing on? - She asked.

- I´ll drive, you man the gun. - I replied.

- Hey boss! What about us? - Klaus asked from the third floor.

- There´s two more bikes down here, retreat and meet me back at motherbase. -

Shots began bouncing all over again, I kickstarted the motorcycle and gunned the throttle causing Helga to curse.

- Easy cowboy, we have to get out of this one alive, remember? - She said while cocking the machine gun.

I looked right and noticed that everyone was retreating and getting into the vehicles, the convoy was now setting off, Some men in motorcycles like ours were driving fast in the direction the doctor´s car had headed, they already had a head start and weren´t going to make it easy for us.

- After them, they know the route so they´ll lead us to the good doctor. - Helga said.

I did as I was told but kept a safe distance, if they noticed we were following them they´d return fire or lead us away.
