God, Allison hated Jaehyun. She hated her with a passion. However, they always got punishments together, and she couldn't do anything about it. Being around her every day was punishment enough.
One day, at school, as usual, Jaehyun was getting taking out of school for something. Probably detention. Our school doesn't expell people, though I think with her they've certainly considered it. As the secretary came to get her, she fought back with no mercy. The secretary is some strong-ass muscular dude who supposedly killed somebody.
I was watching her, that fierce, violent expression on her face. I have to admit, she looked really hot. Wait, did I really just think that? What's wrong with me? Anyways, she noticed me staring intently at her and taunted me, her Korean accent thick in her speech. "Like what ya see, love?" She winked and grinned at me as she said that. Where was her bodyguard? Huh, Zero is always around her. It's weird that he's not. Finally she got bored and stopped fighting back. I rolled my eyes and walked away, not caring about her foolishness.
2 Years Later
I felt the hot tears rolling down my face. “Please come back…” I cried out. Why did Mom have to leave? “Dad, please come back…” Once of the nurses came in. “Was he your only relative?” I nodded. I managed to stand up, shakily. My dad was diagnoised with cancer only one year ago. Why did he have to die? I took one last long, sad look at my father’s corpse. “Are you leaving?” The nurse asked. I simply nodded and walked out. I began walking to the bar, which also contained a club, hopefully I could get drunk or high or both until I was numb. I opened the door and yelled at the bartender to get me a drink. He slid a shot across to me. I kept going until I had downed five. Things were starting to look a bit weird. Suddenly, I heard someone call out, “Well damn, is that Allison Senier? Been too long, love.” I heard someone who sounded vaguely familiar. I turned to see Toko Jaehyun. “Jae.” I replied. “Ooh, somebody’s using a nickname. Well, seeing as we’re both shitfaced, so let’s hit the dance floor.”
I heard several guys hoot loudly, cheering us on, excited to see something interesting. I stepped on, flashing lights and sweaty bodies all around me. I didn’t really care though. I began swaying my hips naturally to the beat, giving Jae something to really look at. She winked at me. “Well, love, if you’re gonna do that, then you gotta do it right.” She began to dance sexually, and I felt my face go bright red. I just then realized what the rather revealing outfit that she was wearing. I was actually turned on now. Then, she whispered in my ear, “Just upstairs, there’s a bed calling both of our names.” Let’s just say, some unmentionable things were done that night.
The next morning
I woke up. “Holy shit!” I looked around. Where the hell was I? I rolled over. Wait, where were my clothes? Why am I naked? WHO THE FUCK IS BESIDE ME? Oh my god. That’s Jaehyun. What the hell happened last night? Oh, I remember now. I hear Jaehyun roll, and she opens her eyes. “Hello there.” “Get the fuck away from me!” “That’s not what you were saying last night. By the way, that’s some nice boobage you’ve got there. Lucky.” I shriek. “You pervert!” “What? I’m just saying that I’m flat and you’re not.” Then I remember. Dad. I feel tears build up in my eyes, then roll down my cheeks. “What’s wrong?” Jae asks. “I never told you why I went to the bar last night.” “I just assumed you were horny and felt like getting drunk.” “See, my dad died of cancer yesterday.” “Holy shit!” She cried out. Then her tone softened. “I’m so sorry. Would a murder or stealing something make you feel any better?” “Are you serious?” Well, yeah, how to you think I’ve survived all these years?”
“It’s been two years. But, I would like to steal or something just for the adrenaline rush.” “Okay! Let’s go! I’ll call X and get him to bring us some normal clothes and take us somewhere.” “X?” I asked. Who was he? Her boyfriend or something? Please tell me it’s not her boyfriend. “Oh, yeah, you knew him as Zero. His actual name is Itsuki, but nobody calls him that. He just does some work for me and keeps the cops off my tail.” She grabbed her phone off the nightstand and dials his number. To think that I hated her in high school. Really, I can't believe that she'd do this for me without a second thought. I mean, I guess she's always been a total flirt, but this seems like something different. Like she actually cares. After my mom left, my dad was always in and out of the hospital for various reasons. I didn't really have anyone to help me with things or care for me. I also never really felt like I had time to date, so I didn't even pay attention to that. I mostly just focused on school. It was really one of the only things that could take my mind off life. I also started trying to learn how to play an instrument at that time. I learned how to play some piano, and was able to take lessons using money from my part-time job at a library by my house. I would read to the younger kids, which I enjoyed. I later stopped taking piano lessons, and bought a ukulele. I eventually figured out how to play it, without lessons this time.
“Hey Jae, I know this might be a touchy subject, but what’s your story? I mean, I just realized this, but I know pretty much nothing about you.” “Ah, see, I was so shitty at school because my parents abandoned me when I was probably around the age of two. Somebody eventually found me and took me to an orphanage. When I was, oh, I wanna say I was about 12, I found I file telling all about me because I didn’t know shit about myself or why I was there. I decided I wanted nothing else to do with South Korea, which is where I was born. I found a supply shipment going to America, so I snuck on there and ate the sailor’s food on the way to help with my constant hunger. It was then when I met X. It turns out that he had illegally moved to America from Japan with his parents, but they were sent back. The people who sent them back didn’t know he had even been born, so he was just living on the streets of California. We eventually moved here, to Oregon. It took a hella long time, but we made some money singing and dancing on the streets. He said he just felt like he had to protect me, so that’s why he stayed. Believe it or not, he does actually joke around sometimes. He just mostly acts really emotionless around other people, I’ve never asked him why.” “Damn.” I responded. I can’t believe she’s been through all that shit and it makes me feel lucky.
“See, that brings me to why I was here. See, I just stopped here for a drink, X and I have actually been in Washington the past week, we just came here yesterday. Here’s the weird thing. I just found out in the past month that I have a sister. Problem is, she’s in Korea still. And my parents are dead. Her name is Taeki. Well, technically Toko Taeki if we’re being specific. She’s probably living on the streets. Do you have a passport?” She asks. “I don’t. Why do you ask?” “Well, I wanted to know if you wanted to come with us since you don’t really have a reason to stay here and since we fu-” I cut her off at that sentence. “Sure! But I still don’t have a passport.” “That’s fine. We can either take one from somebody or get you one. You have money, right?” She asks. “Yeah, why?” “I have a friend who owns a bar and takes things that people leave behind. He probably has a passport, at least one. You should see the stuff that people leave. There’s some weird shit.”
“Kay, let’s go then.” I stand up, and start walking towards the door. “Wait, how the hell are we getting there?” “We’re flying, that’s why you need a passport and why I asked if you had money. We need some for the ticket.” We leave the room and run down, where X is waiting for us in the car. “Oh yeah, Alli, you need to call me Minseo in public. Park Minseo if asked my whole name.” Jae demands. “Why?” “So the police don’t know my actual name.” X starts the car and we drive off. I assume we’re going to get the passport. Honestly, I’ve never done something like this. It seems weird to go from this innocent girl just trying to make a living off of no money, to this badass girl who's ready to steal shit and murder somebody.
"We're here." X announces in his monotone voice. Jae literally hops out of the car. "It's been a while since we've gone to see Cas, hasn't it, X?" "Yes, I didn't really miss him." Jae runs up to the small bar, throwing the door open. "CAS! I'M HERE." She yells loudly. All this time, I'm just standing here. In the corner. "Hey Jae! Where's-" He pauses and stares in X's direction. "ITSUKI!" He screams and runs over to him. "OH HOW I'VE MISSED YOU!" "Wish I could say the same." Replies X, grabbing the other male by the shoulders and moving him away. "Oh yes! Hold me like that! Please, I need more!" He says in an overly-sexual tone. "Oh, who's the new kid?" He asks, looking at me. I feel uncomfortable with the stare of his purple eyes. "She's Allison. Alli, meet Caspian Dare." He bows in my direction. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss Allison." "Cas, I was wondering if you had found any passports. We're going back to Korea to pick up my sister that I didn't know existed, and Alli here doesn't have a passport, so she's not going anywhere."
"Of course, I have like, ten, but I'll need payment." He replies. "Fine, how much do you want?" "Oh, I don't want money. I want him." He points to X. "No." X promptly responds. Jae walks over to him and whispers in his ear, "If you give me the passport, maybe I'll set something up for you. Involving Itsuki being drunk." Caspian runs into the back room and comes back out with 3 different passports. "Any of these look reasonable?" Jae picks one, then brings it back to me. It looks close enough to me. "Thanks for the help, Cas. Text me!" Jae tells him as we leave the building. "Care to explain what that was? Just Caspian in general? Please explain?" "Well, he's in love with X, he's a literal masochist, and he probably has drugs hidden in every corner of his shop." "Ah that makes sense." I reply.
7 Hours Later
We're finally at the airport. Holy shit I'm excited. There's a flight from where we are (Portland Airport) to Incheon Airport (South Korea), where we'll rent a car and drive to Seoul. As we finally get through security, we board the plane. There's a row of 3 seats, so we of course had that as our first choice. As we sat down, we all found things to entertain ourselves until we could get on Jae's laptop and watch videos and TV shows. I grab some paper and a pencil out of my backpack, Jae gets her phone and starts texting Caspian about who knows what, and X finds a book in my backpack to read. I flip him off and continue drawing. Not long after, we're allowed to get out larger devices, so Jae grabs her laptop and turns on an episode of a K-drama called "The Lover". It's really lewd, but it's so fucking funny. We watched that for a while, before turning it off and falling asleep.
