Maya was searching the shelves of books for the young adult section. She was looking for one book in particularly and she really wanted to find it. Her favorite author had just released a new book in Maya's favorite series. Her eyes roamed the shelves until she came across something that caught her eye. It was a book with a gold spine and the cover was in a old design. Maya had a weak spot for shiny books and she silently cursed herself for picking it up. She looked at the price and gasped. It was super cheap and she took it under her arm. She also had a weak spot for good price deals.
Maya found the young adult section and was browsing the shelves when Brian appeared again. “Are you looking for a book in particular or are you just browsing?” he asked her. She told him the name of the book she was looking for, and he started looking for it too.
Maya gave up her search for the book and looked at the pile she had accumulated instead. “We better get going or I’ll use up all my money in here.” Maya said with a sight. Brian nodded and they walked to the register to pay.
“Hi.”said a polite old lady behind the register. “Hi” Maya answered. “My,my, you must be quite the reader.” the lady said and started on Mias pile of books. “I am.” Maya said and took out her card. “Here, let me pay.” Brian said. “No, that's not necessary, I can pay for myself.”
“After Talia and Aurora practically forced you to stay with us? No way. I’m paying.” Brian sternly exclaimed. Before Maya could do anything he had swiped his card and the books were paid for. “Thank you.” Maya said and took the bag.
Outside the shop Maya didn't know what to do. She wanted to stay with Brian a little longer. Brian was lost in his own thoughts. “Witch way are you going?” Maya asked after a while. “Left.” Brian said and Maya indicated she was going south. “Oh, well, see you at school.” Brian said and started walking slowly away from her. He really didn't want to leave her alone. “Bye.” Maya waved.
……………
Maya came home after a short walk to her car. She didn't understand what was happening to her. Her feelings were all messed up. She wanted to stay with Brian, but at the same time she felt weird being around him and the others.
The bookshelves Maya had gotten from aunt Petra was taking up a hole wall of her room. She didn't have enough space on her shelves for the new books Brian bought for her so she sar them down on her desk, and started on some homework.
Maya found herself looking forward to school the next day. She didn't know how much he would be able to see Brian but she hoped they had some of the same classes at least. Maya was good at school, and that had earned her to go up a class in most of the subjects. But she was a lost case when it came to math.
……………..
Maya woke up early. She didn’t want to be late today. She knew her aunt would call to make sure she was awake in about an hour.
She took a quick shower and made breakfast. She was eating when her aunt called her. Her phone vibrated on the counter because her. “You awake?” was the first ting her aunt said. “Yes.” Maya answered and continued eating. “Okay, I’m in a rush so bye. Have a good day at school.” Petra said quickly and hung up before Maya got the chance to answered her.
Maya was on her way out to her car when she heard a growl behind her. She spun around ready to fight, but there wasn’t anything there. She scanned the area and sighted wen she didn’t see anything.
She drove to school. She was extremely tense the whole way. When she got to the school she had a feeling like someone was watching her. She was not that thrilled about the day anymore, and when she walked into her first class, she didn’t even notice Brian at all.
