Not for the first time Luciel watched as Gabriel and God disappeared leaving him alone once more. Letting out an annoyed huff he figured he'd go see what Michael was doing. Walking quickly through the vast hallways he finally found the white winged angel looking within the nursery. It was rather a large room that held some of the newest Angels. They all looked absolutely adorable but Michael was looking at them with his nose crinkled in almost disgust.
"Not the youngest anymore?" Luciel asked laughing when he jumped.
"Don't creep up on me like that!" The young teen said wings fluttering before he shook his head more.
"It's just weird...." He murmured running a hand through his hair before sighing. "Where's Gabriel?" He asked. Luciel shrugged but kept his eyes on the other. He seemed much more grown up an almost weary look to him. That thought was interrupted however when he suddenly tackled Luciel pinning him to the ground. "Never take your eyes off of a potential opponent." He teased before Luciel suddenly threw him off eyes alight with mischief.
"Brat. So wanna do something fun?" Luciel asked grinning as he helped the other up. Brushing himself off Michael crossed his arms as he thought about it.
"Last time we went out and had 'fun' we ended up blowing up half the castle." He reminded with a small grin.
"You were the one who created an explosion indoors I'm completely innocent." Luciel replied back easily before grabbing the others arm and dragging him away. Michael pulled his arm away immediately but kept walking beside Luciel. Finally they stopped in front of the large golden doors. Wings fluttering nervously Michael turned and regarded Luciel.
"Your not thinking o-"
"Absolutely. Why must we always watch them from up here? I heard its so much funner flying down there. Gabriel's been down." He explained. Michael however looked down uncertain as he played with his robe. His eyes refused to look at Luciel until Luciel's hand rested on his shoulder.
"It'll only be for a little bit. There and back. You can't tell me you aren't a little curious." Luciel asked.
"I am.... Just..."
"Afraid." Luciel finished for him. The lack of response was enough for him as he sighed and pulled Michael closer into a hug. Despite his rebellious attitude he still loved his brothers and he could sense real fear from Michael.
"Fine. I want to go down though. You don't have too." He said getting a shake of the head from Michael. Pulling away the white winged angel wings flapped open as he rose into the air. His face was determined as he looked back at Luciel.
"I won't let you go alone.... I'm not afraid." He said saying the last part quietly. Grinning Luciel opened the door slightly before leading the way outside. Closing the door he immediately felt the pull of something. As if it was trying to pull him down. Flapping harder he frowned looking over at Michael who was flapping feverishly. Then without warning he suddenly fell wings folding in on themselves. A cry of help escaping his lips.
Terrified Luciel immediately dived after his brother who was currently in a death spiral. It felt like hours as he tried to grab the other but each time something grabbed him and threw him out of the way. Finally his hand locked with Michaels as he pulled him closer. "Open your wings! Fly! Michael fly!" He cried the own strain on his wings burning. Finally at the last second Michael got his wings open the force causing him to blast backwards throwing him away from Luciel.
Luciel wasn't able to right himself before he suddenly smashed hard against the ground skidding before he landed with a splash in the water. Letting out a whimper of pain he struggled to get out of the water letting out a gasp as he shook his head. Pain wracked his body and when he looked to the side he saw his wing hanging limply beside him.
Broken.
A snap of something nearby drew his attention as he pulled out his trident preparing for a fight. A low growling could be heard as from the bushes a small mangy wolf appeared. Narrowing his eyes he looked the beast over feeling a sense of pride as he recognized it as one of the creatures Michael and him had made.
Michael!
Ignoring the growling wolf he quickly scrambled to his feet looking around desperately for the younger Angel. "Michael!" He called cursing himself for dragging the other along. Images of finding his brother broken flashed through his mind as he shrugged past the wolf. Startling it it tried to lunge at Luciel. Reacting on impulse his Trident sliced out digging deep into the others flesh.
Blood splattered out as the beast fell down Luciel staring at it in shock. As he watched it's chest rose once before stilling completely. He had never seen death before and stepping back he was surprised by the strange sense of satisfaction it brought. He had taken a life. Something his father had given he had stolen. He almost felt giddy till he was reminded what he was doing in the first place. Leaving the corpse behind he raced over to where he figured Michael might have landed.
Walking over he noticed the branches of trees broken leading right up to what looked like an opening in the ground. Not even batting an eye he flew inside seeing an indent where his brother must have landed. As well as a faint trail of blood that lead deeper inside. Narrowing his eyes he kept following it getting a strange feeling of being watched. Finally it curved off leading even deeper down. Blinking Luciel started to follow it before finally spotting his brother.
"Michael!" He called causing the other to turn over and look at him. A relieved expression came on his face as he race over flavouring his own leg as he pulled him into a tight hug.
"Your wings..." He said looking at them with wide eyes.
"They'll heal." Luciel replied with a smile. He could tell the other was scared but his attention suddenly was drawn to what the younger had been staring at. It looked like a large glowing black rock. Shaped almost like a door. "What's that?" He asked.
"Don't know.... It scares me." Michael admitted holding onto Luciel's hand as the older angel started to walk towards the doors. He seemed almost in a trance as hesitantly he reached out before shying away when Michael let out a whimper. "Luciel don't..." He murmured eyes wide. Luciel though ignored him as eyes hardening he reached out resting his palm against it.
At first there was nothing till suddenly he let out a cry. A mixture of pain and.... Pleasure as the energy started to flow through him. His eyes once a brown colour suddenly deepened becoming a dark red the whites of the eyes turning black. His broken wing started to heal the sounds of bones snapping back into place as the feathers of his wings started to fall off. A blackness started to creep through his body as his spine elongated forming a large spiked tail. He was so in love with the sensation that he forgot that he was still holding onto Michael.
That was until Michael suddenly cried out, his body spazzing as Luciel held him. Shocked Luciel let go of the door realizing the blackness that was crawling through him was now flowing through Michael. He watched as his brothers wings once a snowy white started to darken to an almost ashy grey some even getting black tips. His broken leg started to heal as from all around his body flames started to sprout out. "Luciel! Michael! Get away from there!" A familiar voice cried. Before Luciel could react he felt the familiar sensation of being picked up. He hadn't realized that he was still feeling energy from the door until God completely cut off the connection. Once the strange pleasure had gone he suddenly felt tired although his head cleared.
"Michael..." He called weakly before his eyes closed giving into the darkness of unconsciousness.
