Flames erupted around the small angel as for the first time in weeks dark blue eyes shot open with a cry of shock the body awakening once again. Michael let out a whimper of pain before he blinked in surprise looking around the empty room. He recognized it a moment later as his own spotting the familiar scorch marks along the wall. "Ah what.. what happened." He wondered attempting to move only to have his muscles scream in protest. He had just gotten to a sitting position when the door suddenly slammed open startling him as he was suddenly engulfed into a hug.
"Miy, I was so worried! Are you okay?" Luciel's voice cried as Michael let out a small whimper.
"What happened?" Michael asked hands coming out to push his brother away so he could look at him. His blue eyes were wide with fear as his strong grip latched onto Luciel. Pulling the younger one closer Luciel let out a soft sigh.
Petting his back he shook his head kissing him softly on the shoulder. "It's okay. Your okay now Miy alright? I won't let anything hurt you." He said darkened wings coming to wrap around them both. Michael only fought against the grip for a moment before he relaxed breath coming in small gasps.
The door opened revealing Gabriel and Raphael but the two ignored them. Or rather Luciel did his attention locked on the other. He was reminded once more of how young he was. Especially compared to himself. He acted so strong and powerful. Even having his own little apprentice to look after but deep down he was scared. They all were.
"Luci... I feel funny." Michael said finally interrupting the silence.
"What do you mean Michael? What's wrong?" Gabriel's voice cut in commanding as always as he stepped forward. Hand reaching towards the angel as if afraid he would disappear at any moment. Michael shied away at first before allowing Gabriel's hand to rest on his wrist.
"I feel... warm. Like there is a fire inside me. It burns but it also feels.."
"Good." Luciel finished his voice barely above a whisper. Pulling away from Michael he shook his head before brushing a strand of loose hair out of the boys face. His eyes closing as he bit at his lip finally turning to meet Gabriels eyes.
The brunnete was silent for a moment his blue eyes troubled before he shook his head, "I don't know what that means. I... you shouldn't have gone done there but.. that doesn't matter now. What matters is you are here, both of you, and you are safe." He finished crouching down next to Michael as he gave a soft smile. Michael answered it after a moment before suddenly a scream of surprise escaped him as Raphael suddenly manifested on his lap pulling him into a tight hug.
The mute angel was easily forgotten in the commotion so it made it easy for him to suddenly appear. Nuzzling against Michael's neck a laugh escaped the other angel as his more mischievous side was brought to light, "You scared me. That means payback Ray-Ray." He said leaping back before wincing as he pulled a still sore muscle. Looking back he finally noticed the bandage that was along his torso and against his back keeping his wings pinned. A tentative hand reached back before it was replaced by Raphael's who landed silently in front of him.
Raphael's hands came to hold onto Michael's as he shook his head. A faraway sad look on his face as he spoke words that only Michael could hear, "Don't." He whispered.
"... okay." He replied back softly his hand falling to his side as a soft yawn escaped him. Looking past Raphael he met Gabriels eyes before attempting to meet Luciels but he avoided eye contact. "I'm hungry. Can I get something to eat?" He asked.
A soft sigh escaped Gabriel before he let out a soft chuckle, nodding. "Yeah we can get something to eat." He agreed turning to leave. Michael was confused though as he started to follow only to be stopped by Luciel.
"You've been in a coma for months. Just stay here. Gabriel will bring it for you." He said.
"I feel fine now though. I can get my own food." Michael assured crossing his arms as he stepped back.
"You will be able later but we still don't know how it affected you." Luciel explained running a hand through his hair more for a comfort of himself then the other angel. "Your wings are black." Michael commented bringing attention to Luciels now obsidian coloured wings. Pulling them closer to his body he nodded.
"Yeah they are." He said glancing at Raphael who had remained silent through this. At his look the younger Angel just looked away playing with the hem of his robe.
"Are my wings black?" Michael asked once again reaching for the bandage. Luciel went to stop him but he already had it free the bonds falling to the ground as Michael attempted to spread out his wings. Letting out a whimper of pain at the misuse he looked back at them curiously before gasping. The once snowy white wings were now dusted with black giving them a mottled colour that to him was beautiful. "They look awesome! They feel a bit heavy though."
"Heavy?" Luciel cut in eyes glinting in curiosity.
"Yeah it is actually really hard to expand them out. Why are they so Heavy?" He asked.
Before either could answer Michael just continued.
"I could beat someone up with these." Michael giggled finally glancing between them both as he used his wings to lift up landing a bit aways before stumbling when he attempted to land.
"Michael. Be careful." Luciel said taking a step towards him as the angel kept attempting to fly. His blue eyes fell on his before he looked past him his face suddenly lifting.
"Father look! Look at my wings! Aren't they beautiful?" He asked landing this time a bit more gracefully.
"Michael," Gods voice boomed but he ignored it as a soft giggle escaped him.
"I feel good. Flying like this has never felt so good." He commented causing a shiver to go through Luciel at his words. He felt it? The rush of endorphins it gave. When Luciel recovered and his wings were black most thought it was just the colour. It wasn't though it was different. Pleasurable even. They felt good. It made him want to fly forever.
"Michael, please land. I wish to talk to you," God said. Luciel was surprised, father never said please. Looking over at Michael though he saw the little angel pause before to his surprise he shook his head.
"We can talk after. I want to fly." He said.
Luciel was shocked and standing he had to say something, "Michael don't disrespect father like that. He just wants to talk so let him." He ordered. Michael again stopped before sighing and landing.
"Fine." He said before looking over at God. A silent conversation happened between them before God lead them out of the room.
Raphael whimpered as he watched Michael leave his eyes blown wide as his wings remained taut against him. Luciel glanced over at him at the sound not used to any type of noise coming from him.
"It's probably nothing Ray. Don't worry about it. Miy will be fine." He said forcing belief into his words as he sat down waiting for them to return. He felt like he had to comfort Raphael who looked disturbed.
Gabriel actually made it back before Michael's talk was over and after explaining what happened he just nodded and sat down next to Luciel. Soon all three of them were waiting for their brother to return.
Finally they both returned with Michael trailing behind God sadly. "Michael is fine to return to his duties. He can return later today," God announced.
"What you can't be serious!" Gabriel announced before quickly covering his mouth eyes wide as he took a step back. "I- I'm sorry father but l- look at him. He just got out of a co-"
"He can return to his duties Gabriel. That is all." Was gods finally word before his form disappeared leaving them alone.
Michael was staring at the ground as his brothers eyes finally landed on him. Finally forcing himself to look up he bit his lip, "I told you I was fine." He said quietly.
"Yeah you did." Gabriel said not looking at him as he reached out and grabbed the plate of food. "I- brought you this."
"Thanks!" Michael exclaimed taking the plate quickly causing Gabriel to jump. Luciel chuckled at Michael's antics standing up and grabbing a piece of bread off of his plate. "Hey! That's mine get your own!" Michael exclaimed reaching out to try to take it back only to look on in mock horror as Luciel just ate it.
"Vile." Michael muttered turning away and flying up to the rafters in his room. Sticking out his tongue he started to munch on his own as he let out a soft sigh.
Luciel felt eyes on him and looking over he met Gabriel's eyes which seemed to be searching his. "He's fine. Gabe." He said red eyes boring into blue.
"Indeed."
