“Uh… so I’m not needed after all?”
“Screw it. I’m done with this shit.”
Arthur staring down at two zombies that’s lying on the ground with bloody head. The blood is covering the ground and there’s some stuff (?) scattered around their head. Arthur doesn’t want to think too much about that one particular things.
“Well, I’ve never guess that my gift will come in handy this soon.” He said while helping Brian getting up from his sitting position on the floor. “What happened?”
“Damn. Fuckin’ shit just started to climbing on top of the bathroom stall from the one next to me and I was like, ‘Whaaat?’. The other one still banging on the door, so what the fuck I’m supposed to do?”
“Kick their ass?” he said and smirking at Brian scowling face.
“Kicking their ass can’t be done, so I’m swinging the bat that you gave me on a whim. I guess instinct kicked in and I let the adrenaline taking over. Praise the evolution to pass the adrenalin as survival kit on human body.” He wiped some sweat from his face and he knit his brows.
“I don’t even want to remember what kind of hellish face he, he—I mean, it. Yeah, it made when they're eating the poor guy over there. Wait. Did he got to turn to zombies too?” ask Brian.
“They do, according to the tweet I got.” He looked to his phone he take out earlier to check on the recent news about the zombies attack before putting it on his pocket again. “We should hurry up and get out from there. If we got attacked here, there’s less chance of us to getting out alive from this place.” He reached to his bag and taking out the sickle and gives it to Brian. “And use this. It’s better if you got second choice of weapon in case you lose your bat.”
“…Where did you get this? And that hatchet too.” Brian asked him with a frown on his face while pointing at the hatchet Arthur leaned against the wall together with the iron rod when he’s helping him up.
“Oh. I got it from the janitor office. Don’t ask me why since I don’t wanna know what he’s using the hatchet for.”
“I remembered he threatened to cut your head off when you spilled your drink and tacos everywhere when you slipped on the stairs. That was really messy.” Brian checked his body and found out that he didn’t got any blood stain on him somehow.
“A…haha… so I’m feeling worried for nothing…” Arthur mumbled.
“You said something?” Brian asked and retrieving the now bloody iron bat Arthur gives him from the floor and wear his backpack after throwing some heavy book out and left it mostly empty, then put the sickle Arthur gave him inside, leaving it half opened for easier access of it later.
“Huh? Ah, it’s nothing. Anyway, are you feeling okay? Since you killed the infected-zombies or whatever they are just now?” he asked him worriedly.
“Hell if I don’t feel like shit right now. We still don’t know what the hell they are and if they can change back to normal again. The only thing I can say is I did this as self defense and nothing I said can change the fact that I kill then with a baseball bat. I probably going to break down after this all over—if this could be over at all.”
“Then, do you want to check your fam in case they’re okay?” he asked this out in concern.
He knew for the fact that Arthur hate his dad and it was his own dad who kick him out from his own house two and half a year ago after his mom passed away, but at least he still have family unlike him, he though.
Brian have a solemn expression on his face, and Arthur think that he probably should have keep his mouth shut from the beginning, but regret always comes out late.
“No matter. That dick of a father can die and I wouldn’t even bat an eyes. Fucking hypocrite.” He said it hatefully and began walking past Arthur to the door before looking back at Arthur and said, “Come on.”
Brian opened the door and looked to right and left before walking out, followed by Arthur. They walked to the corridor where the closest emergency exit located since the main entrance is a mess according to Arthur when he check the Facebook before.
They walked carefully and without talking, checking every corner for zombies before walking in with weapon ready in both hand. After a few minutes tiptoe-ing and there’s still no sight of the living and the dead, Arthur can’t stand the silence and break the silence.
“Sorry.”
There’s a pause before Brian answered.
“What for?”
“Making you mad.” Brian sighted and looked at Arthur’s dejected face.
“No, Art. I’m not mad at you. At myself, maybe. I just hate him for what he’d done to me, that’s all. My memory of him have always been a suck one, so don’t worry about it.”
Arthur nodded, still feeling a bit guilty, but brushed it off after looking at the frown from Brian face and gives him his usual smile. They didn’t talk after that and keep the silence when they suddenly heard some noise from a half opened room a few feet in front of their position. They take a glance at each other and through eyes contact they decide that it’s better to silently walking away from the door before whatever inside the room noticed.
The both of them raising their weapon and walking very slowly to minimalizing the sounds they made until they passed the slightly opened door successfully and get as far from it as possible before speeding up their feets.
They were almost letting out a sigh of relief before they heard the sound of door banging loudly on the wall behind them and they looked back unintentionally.
They’re greeted with some familiar face of the college beauties. Or former beauties since the blood and pieces of meat (?) around their wide smiled face and body is something that far from the normal beauty standard, except if that person love gore.
Brian addresses them as ‘The World Bitches’ with various version like ‘Bitch from Underworld’ for the girl with dark hair and eyes, ‘Bitch from Salem Lot’ for the girl with red hair, etcetera because some of them keep bothering him and Arthur (and also numerous other peoples) because they’re ‘uglier and poorer etc' than them, thought they’re supposed to go past those phase since this is not a high school anymore, said Brian once.
The sole reason they were bothering Brian and Arthur is only because both had refused to date one of their group personnel and since both of them often share the same classes with some of them and in addition of their ‘bromance’ and their borderline friendzone making some peoples including the 'Bitches' raising their eyebrows at them which the two ignores most of the time.
Now that all of them showed up before them with a huge smile adorned with bloods all over them, the both of them agreed that this is one of the worst possibility that could happened ever.
One thing they both agreed next is to run for their life since all five Bitches are present with their toothy smiley face which mean they are the first round infected zombies bonus one half eatened zombies that looks more like your average zombies from low budgeted movies that’s following them from behind.
How all of the Bitches are here, they have no idea. The top priority now is to run as fast as possible from them.
The second they both takes off with full speed, all six of them also took off running to chase after them, though the ‘real’ zombies is slower than his predecessor. They’re closing the gap with Arthur and Brian in a matter of seconds and Brian can’t hold his frustration and began cursing again.
“FUCK! RUN! HOW THE FUCK THEY’RE AS FAST AS US? NO. THEY’RE EVEN FASTER!”
“DON’T KNOW BUT THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THE VIRUS KEEPING THEIR FIRST HOST IN BETTER CONDITION SINCE THEY’RE BEEN THERE TO CHANGE EVERYTHING ON THEIR BODY OR SOMETHING?” Arthur said this because he’s checked his blog circle when they’re still inside the bathroom before.
As they have that short banter, one of the five first zombies reaching out their hand to grab at them and without thinking, Arthur swinging his hatchet at them.
Arthur feeling grateful for the janitor for keeping the hatchet in a perfect condition and so sharp it almost cutted the zombie nicknamed ‘Bitch from Pluto’ arms completely. But she keeps on chasing after them with wide smile and dead eyes as if there’s nothing wrong with her arm.
The corridor is quite narrow, so the zombies that chasing after them bumping and get pushed with the other sometimes, but still, they’re still chasing them with that happy-creepy looking smile plastered on their faces.
“Shit! Brian! You keep running and don’t look back okay? I’ll hold them off a bit longer. Go and get out from this place immediately, okay?” said Arthur without stopped running. But Brian looked at him with a cold expression.
“Don’t you ‘okay’ me. If we’re going to get out from this place, we’re getting out together, understand? And don’t you dare said anything more because. I’m not a. FUCKIN' DISNEY PRINCESS!” He said this while swinging his bat at one of the zombies stomach that almost got their hand on Arthur and making it fall in the process.
Didn’t know what else to do, Arthur just laugh. They smiled at each other and get their weapon ready to kill.
“LET’S DO THIS!”
“Shut up and just kill them!”
“Aye, sir!” Arthur said while grinning.
