There are a lot of knowledge and experimenting done in creating spells, thus plenty of theories that were made, but magic can never fully be explained by any of it.
We’ll now touch on some spells from the very basic to the most advanced, from balanced to unbalanced and lastly spells that fit all standards for creating spells and those odd ones out.
Firstly basic spells to advanced spells:
As hopefully explained already spells have multiple pathways the most basic only have 1 while stepping up on the difficulty 2 pathways would use more energy, besides being a longer spell.
A basic fire spell would be – Et Qi N’ah - this spell allows the user to hold a small flame in their hands the more energy they feed the flame with the stronger/hotter it becomes. This is also listed amongst the mages as a class 1/tier 1 spell. This is a balanced a spell as well.
A step up from that would be a Class 1/Tier 2 Spell, using the base as above for the next spell – Et Qi N’ah. Err Geh In Ts’qi – This spell creates a flame in the hand the caster can ‘shoot’ and will explode and not just ‘burn’. Still a balanced spell
At the same time a Class 2/Tier 2 Spell can be as follows; using the base from the first spell – Et Qi N’ah. Eh V’ah Om’el – This spell creates a powerfully hot wind that forms around the caster but will not harm him/her – making it still a balanced spell as well.
There are four classes, though the most common spells are all either class 1 or 2, only proficient mages are allowed to study class 3 spells (leaders/elders/scholars). Mages found practicing spells of higher classes than 2 in populated areas are subject to incarceration. A Class is defined by the differenct elemental influence in a spell.
Tiers on the other hand determine the difficulty (not the amount of pathways) a spell that uses 2 pathways but still classified as a tier 1 would be, still using the base spell from before – Et Qi N’ah. Ko me – this spell allows multiple flaming orbs to be used by the caster this is a Class 1/Tier 1; balanced spell.
Next would be spells that are class 1 spells but that have 1 pathway, these spells are what those with an element of say ice would use that can’t use water or wind.
Class 1/Tier 1 – S’oh ‘a Lo’el Li Mi – This spell creates a shard of solid frozen ice, depending on the skill of the caster they can even shape it without a second pathway being chanted and use it as a weapon like a sword insead of ‘shooting’ it at an enemy. The more skilled mage can even form more than one shard though it would use more energy than the mage who casts using water and wind to form ‘ice magic’.
Class 1/Tier 2 (Using the ice basic spell just taught for those not as advanced in the field of ice magic) – S’oh ‘a Lo’el Li Mi. A’i O’n – This spell will form a sword for a spear the last pathway would look as – A’i O’m – this will be a spear. This is an example of the words having meaning O’n means sword and O’m means spear.
A Class 2/Tier 1 Ice spell for those able to use water and wind but not with ice, a spell would be – S’eh’em V’eh’el O’ah – This spell does basically the same as the first ice spell given; a shard of ice is formed, and due to the nature of wind and water (water being able to exist in the air) a mage who uses this spell, the more advanced they are the more shards of ice they can form though not as strong or solid as an ice mage’s ice shard spell)
Next would be balanced and unbalanced spells.
Balanced spells would be as the spells handled above these though varying in ‘difficulty’ are still easier than their ‘counter’ unbalanced spells.
So now you’ll be introduced to unbalanced spells.
For a unbalanced spell the counter-part to the very first fire spell mentioned before we have - Et Hi N’ah – A Class 1/Tier 1 Unbalanced spell, what makes it unbalanced is that a wind category was added and it didn’t change the element, but ‘Hi” is also has a fire property to it, which in turn someone with no wind proficiency will still be able to use it, the difference is they’ll get burned should they lose focus. A person with both wind and fire elements at their disposal though will have a better chance at keeping the spell ‘in-check’ though can still burn. Balanced spells can’t necessarily harm the caster, but unbalanced spells will most definitely be harmful if not properly controlled.
Tune in to the next chapters to see ‘unnatural’ spells explained; those that do not conform to the ‘rules’ or ‘laws’ as per the knowledge and theories obtained throughout the centuries; as well as a ‘Gate Spells’ that has not been mentioned before, and other unique spells types.
