Gate Spells are spells bridge multiple spells, allowing the caster to cast more than one spell at a given moment, as they cast 2 or more spells within in 1 incantation, Gate spells also represent a single spell that allows the user to cast spells without any further incantation and only with the mere ‘thought’. These bridging or “Gate” spells are scarce, but one known master of Gate Spells is Averisa’s mother.
Here are the three most commonly known Gate Spells:
Qi Tao Xao K’in – Class 2/Tier 6 – Balanced – Connects Fire, Lightning and Wind
Yin Qi Ra Lo’in – Class 2/Tier 6 – Balanced – Connects Fire, Earth and Wind
E’oh’n Ya’ng Tao’in Ra’oh’s – Class 2/Tier 6 – Unbalanced – Connects Wind, Water, Lightning and Earth
Casters of these spells can just continue casting successive spells with a single ‘focus’ rather than ending one spell and refocusing on the next spell, Gate spells allow for combination spells, but require an immense mana pool.
Next would be ‘Blood’ magic (Averisa’s magic) and the origin for its spells called Runic Spells as well as Whisper Spells.
Blood magic is when the caster uses their or other’s ‘blood’ to cast ‘spells’ or ‘magic’. This is considered a taboo and ‘dark magic’ but it’s different for Averisa, her magic lies in her blood itself her mana is fused with it and not just something like ‘aura’ as with other mages, it’s due to this that her ‘aura’ appears solid and not fluid, she easiest way for her thus to use her aura is to use it in the form that it’s ‘fused’ with – her blood. Due to spirits having a strong smell for blood they easily respond to her blood especially since it’s ‘magic’ itself, they even obey her and use ‘magic’ in her place for her. The spells she use are specifically calling to a spirit, specifically ‘lesser’ spirits that are in the immediate area the spells she uses – Whisper Spells – can be in any language and so she is able to call to them even in the common tongue, though fee would be able to hear this spell as it’s distorted upon being chanted.
She is able to identify certain spirits with colors as colors make up a ‘world’ all its own while there are different ‘spirits’ for each element but they are ‘picky’ to what they are to be called. Averisa is able to ‘hear’ the ‘whispers’ of the spirits as soon as she draws blood, her blood, as they respond to her smell.
Each spirit also has a different ‘skills’ or ‘magic’ so when she ‘whispers’ her spell she must have a clear idea of what she wants the ‘spell’ or the type of magic to be. True blood magic though the forbidden magic, requires a pact be made with a demon not with a spirit. And the blood is a sacrifice to the ‘demon’ for the magic it provides, the demon thus wood slowly ‘feed’ off of anyone the blood is from until they die, hence Black magic practitioners rarely use their own blood, and if they do they insure the ‘contract’ with the demon is in their favor, which the demon would only agree to if there is some other deal in it for ‘it’ which is never ‘good’.
Runic Spells also use ‘blood’ to ‘draw’ spells - symbols that represent certain meanings for certain spells. Runic spells don’t always use blood; there are substitutes for blood such as ‘holy’ water or carving it out in stone or wood. But this too at some point was misused and became known as ‘black magic’ and was divided into sub types.
These Types of Runic Spells are:
Holy Rune - using Holy water – allowing normal ‘humans’ those without much magical abilities to use certain magic to ‘heal’ as Holy water is a rare mineral that can contain magical elements in it, in this case highly ‘blessed’ with ‘light’ attribute magic.
Sealing Runes – using spells to ‘engrave’ spells into objects/animals/people to seal something like a spirit – used by the Dusk Clan mainly - There are some variety in sealing runes some of which are considered 'off-limits' and so it's wise to hold onto caution when it comes to sealing runes.
Blood Runes – Using blood to cast spells using ‘runes’ – this is what Averisa is basically doing - Forbidden
Relic Runes – The engraving of symbols in ‘ancient relics’ allowing it to ‘store’ magic – a type of knowledge that has become extract and such artifacts with these ‘runes’ are highly sought after, many ancient tombs are cursed/enchanted/protected with Relic Runes. The “caster” does not require any magic, but certain ‘requirements’ must have been met; mages are able to discern 3 types under “Relic Runes”, which are
Burned Runes – Forbidden – Using fire to burn the ‘runes’ while using the ancient language, the language itself containing some power in itself.
Carved Runes – Forgotten - Carving the symbols into stone or wood or any other ‘objects’ and allowing the runes to bask in light or set in with rain or other elements, it is unsure, but the ‘artifacts’ with Carved Runes react to different ‘elements’ glowing when it’s night or humming when it’s raining…
Inked Runes – Considered “Forbidden” – still used, even non mages would have runes inked into their skin by mages who would then enchant the ‘runes’ with their mana allowing the ‘non-mage’ to use the ‘ink’ as magic; example say the ‘tattoo’ is of a snake the person with the correct ‘spell’ could bring the tattoo to life temporally. But it’s hard to come by a mage knows the art never mind willing to do it; for fear of being hunted down by their own people.
