I ripped off the sheets that enveloped my body like a cacoon. Sighing, I sat up and slipped on my shoes.

Trying not to trip on my untied laces, I walked down the stairs and into the living room. I have been ready since yesterday because Ayla said to be quick for, she said, a 'meeting' with her 'friend'.

She was in her lazy couch potato mode again. When she saw me, she jumped of the couch and started doing lunges, like she had been doing them the whole time.

"You ready?" Ayla asked in her 'I would rather be sleeping' tone.

"I guess; I mean,  I don't even know what i'm getting myself into"

"You'll know soon enough" Ayla answered in a sigh.

"I hope you know what your doing, Ayla" I said doubtfully.

"When have I ever let you down?" Ayla asked me in a sassy tone.

Only all the time

Shighing, I grabbed my phone and my keys.  I felt a hand grab my shoulder.

"Hold on" Ayla said.

"What?"

"We can't bring are phones"

"Why?"

"Because they can track us"

"Who's 'they'?"

Ayla didn't answer.
