Courtesy. What the living hell happened to it?! Growing up, I was taught to be courteous to our neighbors, considering I’ve been living in apartments my whole life. I had good neighbors for the majority of my life, but now?! I’m on my fourth upstairs neighbor, and STILL there’s no sign of it! Music being blasted at ungodly hours, mostly morning, and even during the day! Why?! It does nothing but cause problems for you and the people suffering from your mindless actions!

So, let me go through why nothing’s been done to fix my current issue, before you go into the comments and bring it up.

Number one! “Have you tried speaking to them? Maybe if you’re polite about it, they might respect your request.” NOPE! My brother tried when they started up, and all they gave him was lip. Nothing changed, and going back to do it again will only end badly for either us, or them.

Number two! “What about security? Aren’t they supposed to help in these matters?” Normally yes, apartment complex security is supposed to help. So what’s the problem? OUR COMPLEX’S SECURITY ARE COMPLETE MORONS! ALL OF THEM! When you complain about noise, or music, they come (sometimes) and stand OUTSIDE to check if they can hear it. Sometimes the music IS that loud, but then even IF they hear it, do they go to the apartment that was being complained about? NO! Do the knock on the door of the one making the complaint to check for anything in case they can’t hear it? NO! They just walk away. Just, leave. That’s it. Also, it’s best to SHUT OFF YOUR RADIO SO THE PEOPLE BEING ASSHOLES DON’T KNOW YOUR COMING AND EITHER TURN IT DOWN OR SHUT OFF THE MUSIC ENTIRELY!

Number three! “Have you tried complaining to the main office themselves?” Yes. They’re no better, in fact they’re worse. It’s part of the office’s job to make their places habitable, and not allow this stuff to go on! All they care about it money, nothing else. One of the people living with me think they’re trying to chase us out, but...yeah, only evidence of that is the rising rent money every year.

So...what happened to courtesy? Personally, I think NO ONE’S BOTHERED TO TEACH PEOPLE ABOUT IT! I mean, I do meet a VERY select few who do know about it, but otherwise, it’s just gone. Along with common sense, kindness, and generally being an ACTUAL HUMAN BEING!
