I plunge my dagger with such force that it embeds itself into the rough wood of the table. I narrow my eyes at the girl ,who remains unfazed.
"How the hell did you-" I start infuriated.
"If I didn't care for the identity of your precious prince we wouldn't be in a private booth, sweety." she smiled venomously, "you might want to watch your mouth. We don't want others to hear."
"You little piece of-" I swear before Kane gently places a hand on my shoulder.
I clamp my mouth shut as he faces her. I'm half afraid that he might start flirting with her like he does so often with me. I know I shouldn't be bothered but I am.
"How do you know my name and who are you?" he asks calmly.
"I'm Rosalind." she smirks,"- but you can call me Rose."
She bats her eyes seductively at Kane making my stomach clench.
"I will do no such thing Miss Rosalind." Kane says icily to my surprise, "How do you know who I am."
"There aren't many Princes who are said to be freaks of nature," she starts swirling a slender finger around the rim of her wine glass," especially one who's an albino."
She pronounced the word 'albino' as if she held a lemon in her mouth. That's it.
"HOW DARE YOU CALL HIM THAT!" I roar nearly launching myself at her.
Kane pulls me back firmly. Ignoring my desperate kicking he pulls me out of the booth.
"Let me go!"
"Drevial, calm down." he commands turning me to face him.
I open my mouth to retort but he silences me by holding my face. I shiver at his touch and actually left speechless.
"Listen to me." he begins," I know you don't like her but we should handle it appropriately. Why don't you go sit with Wolf while I talk to her and sort it out?" he added bitterly.
"But Kane-" I begin.
"Hey." he produces a weary smile," I promise I can handle this."
I shrug off from his grasp and stare at him menacingly.
"But I don't like the way she talks to you with her honeyed words. I don't think that you would be mature enough to rebuke her words." I state crossing my arms.
For a second his face lights up in his usual amused manner.
"You don't want me to flirt with her?" he laughs, "Is my huntress jealous?"
"NO." I stutter flushing, " I'm never jealous."
He scrutinizes me. I turn away in attempt to hide my blushing face.
I freeze as his hand grabs my own.
"Drevial," he says softly," I only flirt with girls who I like-and so far there's only one girl. Isn't that right my huntress?"
"Kane, I-" I mumble feeling quite stupid gazing at his face.
"I think you should go to Wolf now." he continues harshly," You'll feel better."
I stare at him baffled as he re-enters the booth. What in the world just happened? Confused,I make my way back to Wolf.
"So he's a prince?" Wolf asks pleased.
"Yes." I reply unsure of what else to say.
Wolf gazes at me for a long time. I shift uncomfortably as he laughs suddenly.
"You are remarkably pretty." he comments pushing away a strand of my hair.
"Did it take you that long to make that observation?" I inquire trying to lighten up the sombre mood.
"I did say it before but your prince seems to have flattered you more." he grins.
"That's just playful banter," I say," I don't think he really means it."
A part of me wanted to believe it while the other didn't. I hated when I had war with myself. It's so distracting.
Wolf touches my hand gently. I look at him.
"But let me assure you, that I do mean what I say." he grins.
I'm about to laugh at his joke when I hear the shatter of glass.
I whip my head around scrambling to my feet. A cacophony of shouts and screams erupts from all sides of the tavern. I turn back to Wolf just in time to see a beer mug make a beeline towards his head!
