Hello and welcome to the Spring Incubator Program!

At Tapas, our goal is to help enable and support a generation of creators to tell diverse stories that you can’t find anywhere else. So, in 2017, we launched the Tapas Incubator Program, a way for Tapas to connect with creators and help support them in a myriad of ways.

Our experience with working with the incubator creators was absolutely wonderful, and it brings us such great pleasure to continue this amazing tradition. And if this is your first time hearing about the Incubator Program, then welcome! We recommend heading on over here to learn more about what it is and how you can get involved!

We’ve updated portions of our FAQ section to clarify and expand on some of our previous answers. Answers that have been updated will include the newly edited answer, along with a note explaining the necessity of the change along with the previous answer at the bottom. We hope these changes will address the questions in a more transparent and accessible manner. You can also ask us additional questions for clarification on our forums.

We’ll be taking submissions starting right now, June 1st all the way up to July 1st at 11:59PM PST.

VVBG (incubator creators of Born Sexy Tomorrow) have written up an incredibly helpful guide on best practices for pitching for the Incubator Program which you can find here. We highly recommend reading through their write up before submitting your application to the Incubator Program.

You’ll need a few things before getting started on the application process:

1)    Concept Art (character designs, background art, etc) in a .zip file

2)    Sequential Art Samples (3-5 panel sketch of your original story in vertical format) in a .zip file

Both of these .zip files cannot exceed 25mb combined, otherwise you will receive an error and the application will not go through. If you are continually experiencing difficulties with this portion of the application process, please e-mail artcontest@tapasmedia.co
