I'm definitely happiest about starting my job at Tapas! I figured this wouldn't be a year for anything new, so getting this opportunity was both unexpected and very, very exciting. It's been amazing to meet new coworkers and creators, and to already be working on so many amazing stories!
I'm also proud of how many books, webnovels, and comics I've managed to consume over the last few months. I haven't really been able to go anywhere, but I've seen plenty and learned a ton! Spending so much time reading, keeping my plants alive, hanging out with my cat, and chatting with my parents and friends has made a tough year a little lighter.
1. I'm happy that our team stayed together and remained healthy despite the pandemic and all the craziness going on
2. Our family moved to LA safe and healthy and like our new hometown so much so far
3. Happy that I stayed in shape (or at least tried to) although all gyms have been closed..
Always proud of the creator and reader community for coming together especially during these challenging times. We just saw one of the most successful Inksgivings we've ever hosted during a time of extreme uncertainty. This has also been a year of tremendous growth for us, we've paid a record high to our creators and we've very proud that we're able to financially support so many people during this year.
I'm really proud of the team at Tapas - we've really come together despite us all working from home. I say it all the time, but we're really more than just coworkers at Tapas and this genuine care for one another has truly shined this year. We've been trying our absolute best to make sure that everyone is safe and healthy. I see so many of us going above and beyond on a daily basis. Special shout out to all the new Tapas members! Welcome to the family :)
Haha, a bit of personal happy moment for me is that I got engaged this year! Love ya, Ivy!
We're so grateful too to have you at Tapas, Meghan!
Gonna be extra cheesy with a side of fries here and say being able to be part of Tapas is something I'm very proud of that I accomplished this year. Very glad I'm able to be here and support creators!
The other thing I'm really happy about is being able to make new friends and keep in touch with old ones despite (insert hand wave) all this. I hope in 2021 I can accomplish new and fun things like making a kite shaped like the dragon Bahamut.
Man, 2020 was such a weird year and I'm not going to miss it. Despite that, a lot of great things happened and it is great to be able to look back and celebrate the wins within the chaos.
I'm happy that all my friends and family are healthy and doing okay, that I have a job unaffected by everything and a roof over my head. I'm ALSO happy that I bought a fancy espresso machine this year, which has run every day since it arrived at my house. What a wonderful invention - best use of my money ever. (No, I don't have a problem, leave me and my cup of coffee alone!)
I'm also extremely proud of the community at Tapas, which is so dedicated and excited for novels and comics. We have pulled together and supported each other as much as we can during these trying times, which is a wonderful thing to think about.
*sips coffee*
This year my wife and I bought a new house, adopted our first dog, and I got a new and exciting job here at Tapas!
Starling is best buddies with our Pupper!
While an increasingly more complex year to navigate, I am most proud of how our team and community tackled every challenge head-on. There are many, many, instances of INKcredible (sorry) acts of communal support, creativity, and perseverance in the face of mounting adversity that I am inspired and humbled to have played a small role in helping some of you tell your stories. On a more personal note: Got a little obsessed with biking this year and can't get the Pokemon riding theme out of my head. Send help/Soundcloud links, PLEASE.
I'm really proud of the schedule spreadsheet system Hayden and I worked on to give the creators as useful tool to organize their workflow.
I'm also proud of all the editors in Studio Tapas managing their respective projects diligently and communicating with me so we were all on the same page.
I've been happy about learning how best to help creators make good content and the variety of tasks I have daily so I never get bored with my work. :)
I'm so proud of the stories we worked on! I get to work with some immeasurably talented creators who surprise me at every turn, and the series I've worked on have turned out better than I could have imagined.
In 2020 I decided to try something new and picked up new hobbies!
I started buying plants and recently bought some new art and craft projects. I bought jigsaw puzzle, embroidery kit, epoxy resin and candle making kit. Hoping my new hobby will keep me busy and away from covid blues!
Embroidery is so fun!
Even though 2020 was challenging, I am thankful for many things. The fact that I was able to join a great team at Tapas in October 2020 is something I am very thankful and happy about. I am happy that I was able to get a small place of my own so that commuting would be easier to Tapas and KKP, since our team communicates with KKP very often. Even though we work at home now because of covid, the positive side to it is that I'm able to concentrate better with my work. Other than that, I am quite proud of myself for maintaining my mental and physical health, despite not being able to go outside for leisure. So I'm thankful that Tapas gives employees health support. It's wonderful.
I went on a 10-mile hike at Big Basin, sewed my first handmade cosplay, and learned to cook pasta! Here at Tapas, I'm also excited to be leading a publicity project for the novels team~
I hope you have enjoyed reading Tapas Staff’s reflections on 2020. We can’t wait to hear about yours, so please make sure to take part in our little raffle mentioned in the beginning of this article!
Thank you so much!
