Tapas Community Feature Banner Submissions

Howdy! 🤠

Each day we spend time looking for amazing stories to showcase on the app, but with so many series being added everyday, it can be hard to keep up! 

To give everyone the opportunity to be showcased, we’ve decided to open up feature banner submissions for the Tapas Community Tab! From December 9th, 2022, 1 PM PT - January 9th, 2023, 1 PM PT you’ll be able to submit your banners.   

You can use rough sketches or even existing artwork from your series/covers. Your banner doesn’t have to be final to submit!

Rules:

1. Submit 1 banner per series via our submission form. Fill in a new form for each series you submit. Both novels and comics can be submitted. 

2. Feature Banners must be appropriate for general audiences–as long as you avoid nudity, smoking/drinking, and extreme violence, we should be good to go! 

3. The design must include your series’ logo within the Live Area (See banner template).

4. Submit .jpg files of the sketch or rough draft of your feature banner. We will reach out directly to you to ask for a final file if your feature banner is chosen. 

5. Use the feature banner template to create your design. Parts of feature banners are covered with our app’s UI, and Logos need to be placed within the right area. Submissions not following the template will be disregarded. The template can be found here.  

6. Submissions must be made during the submission period: December 9th, 2022, 1 PM PT - January 9th, 2023, 1 PM PT

7. All participants agree to our Terms of Service and Content and Community Guidelines. 

We will contact creators of all accepted submissions within 10 business days after the end of the submission period. We will not use or share your feature banners without your approval.

Tips:

• Feature banners with 2 characters often do best! 

• Play up emotions & character dynamics

• Have strong contrast & utilize vibrant colors

• Have focus - don’t overwhelm the space 

• Check out feature banners on our sites and app for inspiration!

I had enough time to work past the sketch…and ended up making the final banner. Can I submit a PSD file?
Please hold off. We ask that you submit a .jpg file at this time. 

However, we’re super glad to hear that you’re excited and motivated! Keep the file safe–we may reach out for it 😌

Can my feature banner be a rectangle, circle, etc.?

No, all final feature banners must be 1080 x 1080 pixels. This is the only size that our space allows. 

Can my background/foreground/etc. go into the UI (red) area? 

Yes, please cover the whole canvas with your design. We only ask that you do not place important elements (e.g. text or logos, critical art) in that area as it will be partially obscured. Here’s an example:
