Thank you so much for everything. We are so incredibly lucky to have the community we do. The kindness, passion, and innovation you all have demonstrated is unmatched. Thank you for being so supportive of each other.
Being able to read all the incredible stories present on Tapas has been an invaluable privilege. That being said, It’s with a heavy heart that we must share these new changes.
We have done our research and have taken a lot of care when creating these guidelines. Starting today, the following must be met to be in compliance with our guidelines.
All series titles must be correctly capitalized. Failure to do so, will result in a warning. All nouns, pronouns, verbs, adverbs, adjectives, and prepositions must be capitalized. Articles should also be capitalized, unless they are the first word. conjunctions should not be capitalized, neither should the word “conjunction.” Examples: Incorrect: A Flower In Your Heart And Subconsciousness Correct: a Flower In Your Heart and Subconsciousness
The serial comma (Harvard comma, Oxford comma) must be used. Failure to do so, will result in a warning. The serial comma is the comma used after the second to final item in a list when an and or or follows. Examples: Incorrect: My favorite comics are Villains Ate My Sweet Potato Fries, My Dad Told Me No Once and Now My Life Is Ruined and I Listened to Good Rabbit Before He was Cool. Correct: My favorite comics are Villains Ate My Sweet Potato Fries, My Dad Told Me No Once and Now My Life Is Ruined, and but I Listened To That Band Before They Were Cool.
Series titles must be a minimum of five words. Failure to do so, will result in a warning. We want to make sure readers know what they’re getting into, so please be sure to be descriptive. While the minimum is five words, more words are encouraged. If possible, even make the title the summary. Example: Incorrect: Dropout Correct: I Withdrew From My Education to Build an Empire Best: a Failing College Student Must Choose Between Taking Their Final Exams or Traveling To A Distant, Magical Land To Rebuild A Fallen Empire. It's A No-Brainer, but Will The Student Loans Of Their Past Haunt Their Future?
