  • Tapas’ Second Writers Camp: Winners Announcement!

    Aug 17, 2018

Thank you to everyone who participated in our second Writers Camp contest! From July 9 to August 5, we received a fantastic array of creative, well-written tales from 123 Tapas authors. The full collection of entries can be viewed here!

We’re so proud to see all your hard work as well as the overflowing community encouragement as a whole. Well done! Reading every entry was a treat, and we hope that you’ll continue to write, even as the summer comes to a close.

With that, here are the winners for both categories: the community prize (our top choices from the community vote) and editors’ choice prize (our favorite stories overall)!

Community Prize:

Our first Community Prize winner is Fox Trap by Peni! Hands down the fan favorite, Fox Trap is a sweet and sultry read about a boy who finds himself indebted to a magical fox spirit.

The next Community Prize winner is Android Affection by Beau Van Dalen! This story is a futuristic romance about a robot-hating boy who warms up to a kind android officer.

Both of these authors will receive $500 and a Tapas Premium publishing contract! Congratulations!

Editors’ Choice Prize:

Our first Editor’s Choice is A Tokyo Summer by Violin! A Tokyo Summer details the adventures of a girl who moves to Japan and uncovers the secrets of a gang of runaways. This story definitely has heart: its subtlety and close attention to detail bring this magical depiction of Tokyo to life.

The second Editor’s Choice prize goes to Heavy Lies the Crown by Pan! In this action-packed contemporary fantasy, a commoner becomes the royal bodyguard to a spoiled prince, all while his sister tries to enter the prince’s bride-picking contest. This novel hooked us with its memorable characters and attention-grabbing premise.

Both of these authors will receive $1000 and a Tapas Premium publishing contract! Congratulations!
