  • Pride Comic Contest 2020: How are you celebrating Pride this year?

Happy Pride Month!

 

Here at Tapas, we pride ourselves in being an open and inclusive community, full of creators and readers with a diverse range of voices, backgrounds, and experiences.

 

During the month of June, we will be celebrating Pride Month with a few exciting events we have planned, one of the first being our Pride Comic Contest! This contest will run starting today, June 4th, until June 17th (11:59PM PDT). 

 


About Contest

To celebrate Pride Month, we’re asking participants to submit a single panel or strip that shows us how you’re celebrating Pride this year. Whether it’s reviving an old tradition or finding a new way of celebrating, imagined or real, show us what Pride looks like for you this year in your comic.

Anyone is absolutely welcome to submit! Your comic can be either digitally drawn, or drawn on paper.


Important rules to follow:

  1. Plagiarized content will be disqualified. All work that you submit should be your own.

  2. No Not Safe For Work (NSFW) content.

  3. Previously uploaded work, or submitted work from last year's contest, will be disqualified (more details below).

  4. 1 submission per user only


How to Participate

  1. Submit your comic via email to artcontest@tapasmedia.co (.co not .com) with the subject line “Pride Month Comic Contest 2020”


  2. Comic dimensions

    1. Width 940px

    2. Max height 4000px

    3. File size limit 2MB


  3. There are 2 ways to attach your submission:

    1. Attach submission as a JPEG file,

    2. If you are uploading your submission on your series, please also provide a direct link to the episode. You may submit a comic that you’ve published, as long as it was published no earlier than June 4th, 2020.


  4. In your email, include a link to your Tapas profile (example shown below)


To locate your Tapas profile link, visit https://tapas.io and on the top right corner, click on your user icon. You will be directed to your Tapas profile wall. Please copy and paste that link.

The submission period will run from June 4, 2020 to June 17, 2020 at 11:59PM PDT.

 

Note: Episodes must have been uploaded no earlier than June 4th, 2020. Older episodes will be automatically disqualified.


 

How will the winners be selected?

The Top 30 submissions will be selected by Tapas staff by June 20th based on how creatively you tell your story, not on the actual story itself. Tapas readers will then be able to vote for their Top 3 favorite comics. Voting will take place from June 20th until June 23rd (11:59PM PT).

 

 

What are the prizes?

- 1st Place will win 30,000 Ink

- 2nd Place will win 20,000 Ink

- 3rd Place will win 10,000 Ink

1st place winner, 2nd place winner, 3rd place winner will be contacted via email and receive their rewards by July 1st.

*Ink can be used to unlock episodes of premium series with paid content, and support creators directly.

Contest Rules & Regulations

1. Contest Period: The Contest begins on June 4, 2020 at 6:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (“PDT”) and ends on June 17, 2020 11:59:59 PM Pacific Daylight Time (“PDT”) (the “Contest Period”).
2. Eligibility: The contest is open worldwide to those who have an active email account and Internet access. Employees of Sponsors and their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, fulfillment or other coordinating agencies, individuals providing services to the Sponsors through an outsourcer or temporary employment agency during the contest period, and their respective immediate family members and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to participate in the contest. There is no cost to enter or win. Participation in the contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Contest Rules (“Official Rules”). VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.
