After leaving his hometown in New Jersey, the gangly teenager, Daniel LaRusso, arrives in sunny Los Angeles with his single mother, Lucille. Like a fish out of water, the shy newcomer will be up against the difficulty of fitting in--and on top of that--he will soon find himself being targeted in school by Johnny Lawrence's gang of local karate-practising bullies.
