Recondite Woods is a collaboration between Khail Ballard and Aaron Painter, who are nice enough guys when you get to meet them. The comic is heavily inspired by old fashioned newspaper comics (back when they were good). Calvin and Hobbes is probably its greatest influence, though it's spun with its own flavor as well.
